Fill your boots. I know I would. CakeWine

Candlestickchick · 10/12/2016 19:26

Totally reasonable

PrettySophisticated · 10/12/2016 19:29

Completely. It's been £10 for years (at least 15?). The main way they've achieved that is by shrinking the portions - although quality has declined too imo

MrsAlexanderSkarsgard · 10/12/2016 19:29

Perfectly reasonable in my eyes Grin

LittleMissNaice · 10/12/2016 19:30

Well you're making me very grumpy that I have to share mine with dp.

cheerylilthing · 10/12/2016 19:31

We had the duck legs yesterday & they were lovely. Sometime the selection can be a bit samey but there was a lot of choice in the Leeds store yesterday.

PixieMiss · 10/12/2016 19:33

Apparently they lose lots of money offering the £10 dine in deal and they rely on customers putting other things in their basket to bump up profits.

interstellarcloudofdust · 10/12/2016 19:34

I'll just park myself here and wait to see how long it is before someone says they could feed a family of four for a week on what you've just eaten.

TheMortificadosDragon · 10/12/2016 19:34

OTOH when they do a Chinese £10 meal for 2 it's plenty for 3 of us with some stirfry veg.

Bluntness100 · 10/12/2016 19:35

Yup, and freeze the left overs, because it's just too much food.😂

TheNewSchmoo · 10/12/2016 19:36

I live alone, buy one on a Friday and it's my whole weekend's evening meals.... Pretty much (except for a few extra veggies) . Especially if I get the rotisserie chicken

Grumpbum · 10/12/2016 19:37

Blush I do feed a family of four with the deal (2 and 6 yr old) especially when it is the chicken.... except the wine that's my H's and mine

IHaveBrilloHair · 10/12/2016 19:38

I've never had an M&S one as I do all my shopping online but I often get the Tesco one.
The root veg bake side dish is great.

PrizeyPrize · 10/12/2016 19:39
Grin I had the garlic chicken parcel things, but couldn't manage them both, the med roast veg would have been a very stingy portion if it had been halved. The chocolate pine cone was scrummy, and I have another one that I can't stop thinking about to enjoy in a bit. prettysoph & pixie that doesn't surprise me actually, for it to be enough for two you'd have to add another side, definitely. Didn't they used to give you a starter before, or two sides?

Lelloteddy · 10/12/2016 19:42

I share the mains with DP but the trifle desert? All mine.

CombineBananaFister · 10/12/2016 19:42

Hah, enjoy Grin

PrizeyPrize · 10/12/2016 19:44

BTW, I never said that I'd actually eaten all of it. One of the chicken parcels is uneaten and will probably be lunch tomorrow, and one of the desserts is uneaten too although probably not for long. Is now a good time to say I skipped lunch today too?

Joinourclub · 10/12/2016 19:44

I think they are really for one and a half people! When I've git it I've had to add extra veg or potatoes, one side isn't enough. I'd rather have 2 sides and no pud.

Helsinkimorning · 10/12/2016 19:45

I consider it a bottle of wine with a few free bits of food thrown in

Whatthefucknameisntalreadytake · 10/12/2016 19:45

YABS (you are being sensible)

Judydreamsofhorses · 10/12/2016 19:56

I think you always need to add a side, but otherwise it's brilliant value. In marketing terms it's a loss leader - it costs them money per unit, but it drives traffic to the store and the majority of those shoppers will not just spend £10.

squoosh · 10/12/2016 19:57

Very sensible OP. Did you have the profiteroles? I love those. And they're definitely not made for sharing.

PixieMiss · 10/12/2016 19:57

Those chicken lattices looked lush!

myyoyo · 10/12/2016 20:10

What's inside the pinecone?

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 10/12/2016 20:13

Oh yeah, we always add another side. Otoh the Waitrose version is £15 and seems more generous - we got a whole chicken, those wee cubed tatties, profiteroles, a big prawn cocktail portion and wine. Loads for 3.
