To spend today in bed?

Not the whole day.

Ds2 has an inset day. He's knackered (reception) so won't want to do much apart from watch minecraft videos on youtube.

I'm thinking about getting the other two off to school (they get themselves there) and going up to bed to watch telly.

The house is clean and tidy, I'm about to change the bedsheets so it will be all cosy and inviting.

We'll go out with the dog to the shop later so we won't be complete hermits.

Is that terribly decadent and lazy? Should I be filling his day off with improving activities? We've got a really busy weekend ahead so I think we need the downtime.

AIBU?

YANBU.

PeachBellini123 · 09/12/2016 07:23

Why are you even asking? That sounds like heaven. Keeping the dog happy as well with a walk...do it!

PeachBellini123 · 09/12/2016 07:24

Sorry to double post but surely spending some quality time with a parent counts as an 'improving' activity.

HardLightHologram · 09/12/2016 07:35

Well, he'll be mainly downstairs while I'm up in my room, but I expect he'll end up coming up for a snuggle.

It's that or I'll be down here sitting through endless videos of people opening surprise eggs.

Well time entertaining themselves is a positive thing for kids IMHO Wink

BathshebaSnowflakeStone · 09/12/2016 07:41

My whole family says YANBU. Have a good rest.

I think you should give the dog a decent walk - not just an amble to the shops. Then go to bed afterwards. Sounds great

Cguk81 · 09/12/2016 07:58

Sounds amazing, enjoy!

Inthenick · 09/12/2016 08:07

If you can't be decadent and lazy sometimes I don't know what the point of living is.

Alabastard · 09/12/2016 08:08

Please do it. Do it so I can live vicariously through you.

mum2Bomg · 09/12/2016 08:10

YANBU - enjoy!

HardLightHologram · 09/12/2016 08:13

The shops are a forty minute walk away (we live semi rurally).

Change of plans, DS wants to play mine craft (rather than just watch other people play it) so he's in the study and I get the big tv all to myself. I'm in PJs under a blanket with Elementary on.

YANBU

Trifleorbust · 09/12/2016 08:24

I was going to say, I bet he would be glad of the break from 'improving activities' - sometimes we all need to veg out!
