Just sit elsewhere

BillyDaveysDaughter · 07/12/2016 23:27

Coat/jumper over nose and mouth. Breathe through mouth. Retch ominously and see if he moves.

FoxSticks · 07/12/2016 23:33

How can it be rimmed at this time of night?

FoxSticks · 07/12/2016 23:33

Rammed!!! The shame.

BikeRunSki · 07/12/2016 23:35

Maybe the OP is not in the UK fox

DillDongMerrilyOnHigh · 07/12/2016 23:36

Rimmed! Grin

Op, breathe through your mouth (don't think about the stink particles).

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 07/12/2016 23:38

Fox - lots of trains are packed at this time of night.

saltandvinegarcrisps1 · 07/12/2016 23:38

YANBU. I am amazed sometimes at how much younger (than me) people stink. I've had students who have stank soooo bad I want to throw up. No lack of hot water could cause this

I'd move closer to the doors as the train approaches it's next stop at least you can get a bit of fresh air.

littlesallyracket · 07/12/2016 23:43

A few weeks ago I got on a crowded tram on which a woman was eating - I shit you not - a packet of smoked mackerel fillets.

WHY WOULD ANYONE DO THIS ON A TRAM?? I don't mind mackerel but the entire carriage reeked of it.

heebiejeebie · 07/12/2016 23:45

Ha! I thought I'd clicked on the thread above yours 'AIBU to talk to my child'. I thought you were quite harsh.

ItShouldHaveBeenJingleJess · 07/12/2016 23:53

fox. Grin

PickledCauliflower · 08/12/2016 00:09

I often find public transport even more whiffs in the winter - as there are less windows open.
It's the smell of unwashed clothes that gets me, the smell of sweat and dirt in clothes that must be weeks or months old.

PickledCauliflower · 08/12/2016 00:09

"Even more whiffy" that should say...

LemonsDrizzled · 08/12/2016 00:09

Sitting

PickledCauliflower · 08/12/2016 00:14

I was on a train from Manchester to Newcastle a few weeks back. It was very busy - so I had to sit on a table with three people already seated.
One of the passengers practically laid out a buffet for himself on the table.
Sliced ham, a bag of tomatoes, a crusty loaf and houmous. He was munching away on this for around 40 minutes, the table was full of his buffet.
I felt like I was intruding on his meal 😳

HarrietVane99 · 08/12/2016 00:20

Don't know where the op is, but late trains out of London in the evening are often packed.

ninenicknames · 08/12/2016 16:00

I was coming out of London, late trains are always packed.

Sounds like people have had worse experiences than me. I'm literally sick of people's lack of hygiene these days!

OP posts:
Soubriquet · 08/12/2016 16:02

I wouldn't have suggested rimming really but it might have made him move

toffee1000 · 08/12/2016 16:37

Jesus Soubriquet now I've got a hideous image in my head.
Barf.

Fruitcocktail6 · 08/12/2016 16:54

I'm sat on the train.

There's a drunk man wandering up and down shouting about Liverpool football club (he likes them, apparently)
