Another school play one

Letter for DD's year one play stated no pre-school children or babies. Also a two ticket maximum to start. A shame but fair enough, I watched the play while DH stayed home with baby DS.

Well arn't I a rule following prat, prams down both sides, and several families in attendance (Mum, Dad, younger siblings).

Am I unreasonable in thinking if you make these rules you enforce them or what's the point. I feel DH missed out unnecessary.

You are right. If school sets rules like that they need someone to police them. I think generally they just hope people will obey but haven't the time nor energy to enforce!

I think they just hope enough nice people follow the rules, to allow extra space for those to whom the rules don't apply.

Our school had the same message with the same result.

At least have the decency to take noisy youngsters outside when they become distracting. The kids work hard to make a success of it, and they can be put off or drowned out by bored toddlers and crying babies.

Minnie it just seems so stupid and I can't get over how self centred some parents are.

As both parents were there watching to me it means that one if them was available to stay home with siblings !

Our ds had school play today. What a waste of money & time it was. We arrived more than half an hour early & still got a seat halfway back where we couldn't see anything & it lasted for an hour. the children haven't done any schoolwork for ages as they've just been practising. I'd have been extra pissed off in your position & would write them a letter to get the anger out of my head! Grrrr!

Scrumptiousbears · 07/12/2016 22:08

I would follow the rules OP and would be really fucked off if I got there and others didn't. Angry

Yanbu it's not fair on those who follow the rules if they're not enforced
