to remind you all to signal at roundabouts?

It struck me today how few drivers signal on exiting a roundabout.

According to the Highway Code, you should signal left after you have passed the exit before the one you want.

When did following the Highway Code become optional?

I fucking hate when people do this. Learners get a free pass, everyone else needs to be absolutely CRYSTAL FUCKING CLEAR on what you are about to do. Because guess what? I can't read your tiny little mind!

On another topic guess who got cut up at the roundabout on the way home today? Grin

spacefrog35 · 07/12/2016 18:07

Especially when you're trying to turn left from the right hand lane Hmm

Themoleandcrew · 07/12/2016 18:10

Ugh we have a notorious roundabout near us. Loads of accidents. It's actually not hard to negotiate, you get in the right lane and it feeds you round to the exit. I was on it yesterday and some utter twat cut across three lanes to pull off at his exit, no indication at all. I was luck there was nobody close behind me as I had to slam on my brakes to avoid hitting him. That's why the roundabout is so dangerous. Idiots who can't drive.

Snowflakes1122 · 07/12/2016 18:14

Yanbu. So frustrating when wanting to pull out but idiots don't signal

PinkiePiesCupcakes · 07/12/2016 18:16

I hate roundabouts, its not just the sigalloing, its the:
"Let's all stop and look at each other because we don't have a fucking clue has fought of way right now"

somewheresomehow · 07/12/2016 18:19

Not just indicating at roundabouts , how about putting headlights on in the bloody fog it was really bad round here yesterday and saw loads of drivers appearing out of the gloom at me Angry

Allofaflumble · 07/12/2016 19:50

Totally agree. At the top of my road there is a mini roundabout. Often as you have right of way to turn in right, someone will whiz across you, eyes fixed ahead with no acknowledgement that there is a roundabout. It is their road entirely. Why should they concern themselves with the highway code. Angry

FlyingElbows · 07/12/2016 19:57

Anyone who can't work a roundabout should have their driving licence removed! I'm on the brink of painting "don't panic! It's your go" on the right hand side of my truck. The number of people here who just sit there at roundabouts does my tits in.

TheEmmaDilemma · 07/12/2016 20:13

My pet peev is people that can't figure out the two roundabouts need me. There is no straight over so to speak, on both there is either a left or right. The amount of people that use the left lane at the approach to go right and cut up people is amazing.

I know that technically you can use it for a second exit off the roundabout but common sense would say that when there are only two exits and there are two approach lanes, you would just use the one on the left to go left and the one on the right to go right.

ghostyslovesheets · 07/12/2016 20:14

It's lack of lane discipline that I hate - move over move over - don't just stay right until the last fucking moment then panic and break!

Twatternatter · 07/12/2016 21:25

I pulled out at a roundabout today and the chap coming towards me bibbed. He was indicating off! Bugger. The only taking I went was because he was indicating! Grrrrr

NoSquirrels · 07/12/2016 21:33

I learned not so long ago and the amount of people who regularly don't indicate is astonishing. I think people get inured to it - I pointed it out to my DH when I was practising with him before my test, and it was like he hadn't seen it before. It's not a difficult rule, it's just laziness surely?

Witchend · 07/12/2016 21:55

Indicating has gone out of fashion as I say to my dc.
