Aibu to give up my 16hr week job

Hi,

As title says I work 16 hrs a week over 2 days as a nurse. I have 3dcs (age 7mths, 6 and 10). I am finding the stress of the job too much, I suffer from anxiety and it is a challenging environment with lots of staff off sick with stress or leaving. Everyone thinks I have it easy only working these hours but in reality the time I am not at work I worry about it frequently and what situations I will be going back to.

I would love to be a sahm and feel that this would be ideal for our family and my dh is supportive of this and says I should do whatever makes me happy. But I worry about giving up a wage and how this will impact our quality of life. It would mean living with £500 disposable income per month for all of us?

Will you be giving up your registration too? Because that's a massive decision. Have you thought about bank or agency shift? And is you are in the NHS you will stop contributing to the pension scheme (I realise it's not as good as it used to be). Have you thought about occupational health, school nursing or outpatients as alternative?
