To open DH's advent calender?

6th December and he hasn't touched the fucker.

It's sitting on the kitchen worktop, full of chocolate, tormenting me. I could blame it on the DC right? Even though one of them can't walk yet? Or the cat......

YANBU. Just do it

WiseOwlLady · 06/12/2016 18:29

Claim a chocolate emergency and do it!

Sierra259 · 06/12/2016 18:34

A chocolate emergency you say? I am liking the sound of this.

Surely use it or lose it rules apply? So if he doesn't eat the chocolate on the appropriate day then he forfeits the right and you can help yourself.

TheWitTank · 06/12/2016 18:37

It's advent calender cruelty. Poor thing, sitting there, lonely and unopened. You have a moral responsibility to provide aid to the calendar.

RedMapleLeaf · 06/12/2016 18:39

Can you surreptitiously eat the chocolates, stick the calendar back together and then deny any knowledge?

Sierra259 · 06/12/2016 18:42

TheWit you make a compelling case. Surely it's an advent calender's raison d'etre to provide a daily supply of chocolate? It's probably got dreadful job satisfaction and feeling terribly unfulfilled.

That poor advent calendar is not fulfilling its' true potential. How cruel of your dh! Is he usually this thoughtless?

Put that poor calendar out of its' misery and eat the chocolatey goodness from within.

isthatpoisontoo · 06/12/2016 18:48

I haven't opened my advent calendar yet. I'm looking forward to several chocolates all on one day when I'm over this cold and van really appreciate them!

minionsrule · 06/12/2016 18:59

Oh OP you have to do it, your DH will be sick if he eats them all at once - do your duty woman!
No chance of our advent calendar not being opened every day, my lovely sister bought me and DH a wine advent calendar, 24 lovely little bottles of red (DH) and white (me) wine. After Day 5 DH was winning with 3 bottles to 2, although one of mine was a Prosecco Grin

GinAndTeaForMe · 06/12/2016 19:08

Do it. Every day. Shut the doors afterwards and see how long it takes him to notice.

Sierra259 · 06/12/2016 19:22

isthat see that is a perfectly reasonable excuse. Chocolate with a head cold is wasted.

I don't think I'll bother getting him one next year. Except then we'll no doubt get a DM sad face Hmm I suppose his restraint is an admirable quality - as opposed to me when it comes to chocolate, who has the self-control of a mouse in a cheese shop Blush

Get one of the fecking Elf on a shelf things, sit it up next to the calendar with a smear of chocolate on its mouth and hey presto! Instant scapegoat!

MrsGsnow18 · 06/12/2016 19:31

Shock please don't come to my house, I like to skip days and hoard my chocolatesGrin one little tiny choc a day just isn't enough!

minionsrule · 06/12/2016 19:32

Sierra, it is - I have a wonderful sister but not sure what message it gives about me and DH Grin

TataEs · 06/12/2016 19:32

open it at the top. slide out the tray of chocs, eat the correct days and slide back in. when he opens it and finds them gone look baffled and as outraged as he does!

Sierra259 · 06/12/2016 19:34

Tata, you sound like you have experience in this area. That is genius Grin
