AIBU to expect more than a packet of Maltesers

My husband has just spent the weekend away visiting some friends, eating, drinking, relaxing, which I am totally fine with. He left early Friday morning and got back in time to read stories tonight. I have stayed at home with our 3 boys, the youngest had an emergency visit to the doctors Friday evening and we had to spend Saturday afternoon in a&e because our eldest had a suspected broken arm after coming of his bike. It's been a tough weekend and the husband had bought me a packet of Maltesters-the same as the kids. I was kinda hoping for something a bit bigger, tastier, AIBU??

Depends. How big was the packet?

You know those massive boxes of maltesers-the really bugs ones? If it wasn't one of those then Yanbu.

Champagneformyrealfriends · 05/12/2016 21:33

Big not bugs! Bloody phone.

Biffsboys · 05/12/2016 21:34

YANBU - at very least a BOX of maltesers should have been supplied ( and also a bottle of wine )Wine

Gobble them all up & pop out to do a bit of late night shopping/ meet friend in pub or to buy a tin of roses whilst he looks after the DCs.
That'll make you feel better OP. Flowers

It was bigger than treat size but I was hoping more for a box of Lindt, wine and a speech about what a wonderful wife I am!

I must be a crap wife, it wouldn't cross my mind to bring my husband something back after a weekend away Blush

RaggyDoll1 · 05/12/2016 22:56

YANBU

Its not just a weekend away, you have had a tough time with the injury as well.

You need to tell him how you feel, let him make it up to you!

Onenerfwarfrombreakdown · 05/12/2016 23:00

Not just a "weekend" but nearly 4 whole days??? Friday morning to Monday night from your OP.
Fuck that, I'd be after a diamond, minimum Grin

antimatter · 05/12/2016 23:02

Have you booked yourc4 days off yet?

AngelPot81 · 06/12/2016 08:09

A diamond would be nice, but I will save that for another time!
I don't think I could go away for 4 days, but if I did and he had a weekend like mine I would feel so wracked with guilt I would certainly make it up to him! 😉

Maybe you should book a spa day

Caipirinha77 · 06/12/2016 08:38

Op - I get where you're coming from. It's nice in theory to think you could book 4 days too, but the reality is you probably wouldn't. Could you do 2 nights though - even one?

At the very least, he could get you flowers and take you out for dinner - especially given the a&e scenario. Maltesers is rubbish and the same as the kids anyway.

The diamond can wait till Christmas Grin
