To watch sporn videos every night in bed? KLAXON (title amended by MNHQ)

GrabtharsHammer · 05/12/2016 20:30

Dh hates it and wants me to wear earphones, but I watch them to drift off to sleep and earphones irritate me.

He doesn't mind the ones with music but he doesn't like it when you can hear what's being done to people.

I just find it really relaxing, and it helps me to sleep. I think it's like a primal release when all the stuff eventually comes out!

Dh says it's gross and I need to get a new hobby. I think me and eleventy billion viewers per video can't all be wrong.

Harsh. Poor OP. Look, friends: MN Sporner Corner

There are many sporners on MN. I don't dare look.

GrabtharsHammer · 05/12/2016 20:54

I love the cysts, but not before bed. Weird dreams otherwise.

There you go OP....

Maverickismywingman · 05/12/2016 20:54

Ok. Well now we've got to the bottom of sporn - if you know DP doesn't like it (and if you don't like his martial arts) then maybe headphones or watch things in different rooms might work better for you?

GrabtharsHammer · 05/12/2016 20:55

I only have the sound very low but Dh says he can hear dr Lee's dulcet tones and knows what I'm watching.

I'm going to ask for a sleepphone thing upthread for Christmas.

Sparklingbrook · 05/12/2016 20:56

If you look hard enough there's probably a sporn video featuring martial arts as well.

Maverickismywingman · 05/12/2016 20:57

A sleephone thing sounds great!

DotForShort · 05/12/2016 20:57

I've never heard of this. To each his own.

My own response to the idea: yuck.

GabsAlot · 05/12/2016 21:01

my thread of the day

paxillin · 05/12/2016 21:01

MN has hundreds of sporners. They successfully campaigned for a sporner corner last summer. Klaxons galore and pimple video swaps. Boak. But they are a lovely lot, even if they have a niche hobby.

TheFairyCaravan · 05/12/2016 21:02

I love sporn. I fell asleep watching it the other night but woke up when my iPad hit me in the face!

My children are so well trained they send me videos to watch. When DS2 was on his first ward placement (he's a student nurse) ) he rang me to tell me how much he'd enjoyed picking all the dead skin and fluff out of an infected leg ulcer.

Judydreamsofhorses · 05/12/2016 21:04

I sssumed sporn meant soft porn. I have clearly never lived.

Cantusethatname · 05/12/2016 21:05

This honestly makes me feel sick.
I think your husband is very tolerant to have this anywhere near him. I feel queasy even thinking about it. TBH I couldn't stay married to you!

Katy07 · 05/12/2016 21:12

I hope your kids aren't having to put up with the noise too. I really do pity your DH & DC, on so many counts. Your DH may have the patience of a saint but even saints have their limits. You just seem to be selfish in so many ways (from reading all your various threads recently). No wonder your DD acts out, poor girl.

Sparklingbrook · 05/12/2016 21:12

I am not sure why sound is required TBF.

PossumInAPearTree · 05/12/2016 21:13

I love a bit of sporn.

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 05/12/2016 21:16

Sporn is my dirty little secret, but not for falling to sleep to.
Have you tried a drama on radio 4 I player? Nice soothing voices, on for a hour-I'm usually asleep in 10 minutes and it turns itself off.

Tissunnyupnorth · 05/12/2016 21:19

So....sporn is watching people squeeze their or another person spots until they pop, having filmed themselves do it. You then like to watch this to drift off to sleep and your DH is objecting to this as he is lying next to you. You want to know if you are being unreasonable?

I had to type this out to get my head round it.

paxillin · 05/12/2016 21:19

Maybe it's just not the same without the plop plop splat, Sparklingbrook Grin

GrabtharsHammer · 05/12/2016 21:20

It's actually usually Dr Pimple Popper and it's her voice which is quite soothing. Or sometimes I'll find one with a classical music track.

It's all very civilised.

LOL....I have nothing else to say...ha ha ha ha Grin

Serialweightwatcher · 05/12/2016 21:24

This is a joke, yes???? Surely there's no such thing and even if there was, nobody but nobody could like it or enjoy it? Thinking the world's gone completely potty Sad

Tissunnyupnorth · 05/12/2016 21:27

I didn't believe it. I've just made the huge mistake of clicking on the mumsnet sporn corner thing and looking at some of the posts.

I actually feel sick.

BratFarrarsPony · 05/12/2016 21:27

serialweightwatcher are you serious? yes this is a thing! there is nothing more satisfying than watching a good boil being squeezed...Grin

This seems to me to be the same kind of thing as watching someone go to the toilet and wipe their bottom.
