Workplace Christmas Meal

Aibu in thinking when your invited to a Christmas meal at work you have the right to decline?

I've declined several. Two because I had just had a baby (literally days old), one because I already had plans to be somewhere else with family. No one batted an eyelid.

I never go to mine, I work with what can only be classed as a bully -so no chance I'd want to spend any more time in her company than I have to.
