Arranged with a builder to come round today at half two to quote for some work (a big job so you'd think it'd be worth their while) and they are still not here and not phoned to say they are running late. I'd call them but I've stupidly saved 3 numbers as Builder 1, Builder 2 and Builder 3 and I can't remember which one is today (2 coming tomorrow) Blush

WIBU to go out if they're not here in 15? I've wasted an afternoon off for this Angry

Sod it, just go out.

If they are unreliable now then they are not the type of people you want working on your house

Easy to mix up the numbers.

Nightmare but use the punctuality of builders and the 'doing as they say' as just as valuable as the quote.

Some have a parallel universe attitude to time keeping.

Go out. Based on the 'dating principle' I invented. If someone turned up to a first date late, rude and smelly, you'd know they weren't going to improve. This is your first date with the builder, when you have the money and he doesn't. And he's late. Sod that.

very well put imo!

ZoFloMoFo · 01/12/2016 15:31

If they can't bother to be on time or in communication before they've even quoted, then they're not likely to be punctual, communicative or reliable when they've been given the job.

Write these ones off.

its the first stage of weeding out the bad ones
