Spotted this little bargain on a Facebook selling page earlier...

Yes indeed, it's an empty bottle of wine! Ideal Christmas present for someone you hate no?

Any other gems?

Christ, if I went through my re-cycling bin I'd have a whole business empire Xmas Blush

CommunistLegoOoOoBloc · 30/11/2016 23:24

How much? I could be sitting on a gold mine

FasterThanASnakeAndAMongoose · 30/11/2016 23:24

Please tell me what those 16 comments say

PickAChew · 30/11/2016 23:26

Have a bin full outside {hic}

Surely it's not a bottle of wine, though, since there's no wine in it.

FasterThanASnakeAndAMongoose · 30/11/2016 23:26

I always find these things a tad sad. People are desperate for money and root out anything in the hopes someone will want it.

FasterThanASnakeAndAMongoose · 30/11/2016 23:28

Ha! The 16 comments are all enquiries about the other tat she's selling - novelty Christmas tupperware, lipglosses and the like.

No one has enquired about the wine bottle yet but I'll keep a beady eye on the post...

I did think that too user, but I'm still gobsmacked.

I hate it when people say inbox me for prices. Just type the bloody price!!!

MothertotheLordsofmisrule · 01/12/2016 00:25

I think my parents had a bottle like this. They used it as a candlestick cos it was the 70's and gave ambience.

glueandstick · 01/12/2016 05:17

These Facebook selling pages are special special places.

I'm a lazy toad and can't be bothered to take things to the tip/charity shop so bung them on these pages for a couple of quid and people come and pay me to take away stuff! No effort really needed and saves me lugging stuff around!

I can visualise that bottle in my local Chiquitos rustic Spanish taverna.

MommaGee · 01/12/2016 07:08

Sure it's only a few quid more expensive with wine in from Lidl

TattyCat · 01/12/2016 08:34

Ah, well, it's not often you come across that type of bottle anymore so I get why you'd sell it instead of binning it. They're used for candles and some restaurants still use them.

I sell my empty whisky bottles because someone turns them into 'lamps' with fairly lights inside and sells them for a massive amount. It makes my whisky £3-5 cheaper because I get that return on the bottle!! As long as they keep buying, I'll keep selling. Who's daft?

BettyBluebell · 01/12/2016 10:07

I saw a bottle like this last week when I went to the bottle bank! It obviously wouldn't fit in the hole. I missed a trick there. After reading the Xmas fb tat thread, it did occur to me to take it home and stencil a reindeer on it or something.

Temporaryname137 · 01/12/2016 10:10

I don't think I've ever seen a facebook selling page. Where are they??

Ahickiefromkinickie · 01/12/2016 21:35

Temp just type your hometown into FB search bar e.g. Brighton Buy and Sell and your local page should come up as a search result.

GriefLeavesItsMark · 01/12/2016 21:42

I would say someone who'd buy a whiskey bottle with some fairy lights would be the daft one.

glueandstick · 02/12/2016 18:45

Where do I sell these bottles? We've got a load of whisky/gin/other spirits. It'd make the recycling look better too.

plimsolls · 02/12/2016 18:49

There's someone like this on my local FB selling page. I hope she's just a chancer but there's a side of me that feels she might be desperate for money and thus I feel bad. I have a constant internal struggle between scorn and sympathy! I might just leave the group instead..... less emotional turmoil.
