I took my dd to the doctors today about her eye it's a long story but I wrote a post on here I can't figure out how to get a link on my phone but I posted a picture (see below)

Anyway I saw my gp and he immediately dismissed it as conjunctivitis and nothing needed to be done which is fine but he was so condescending he started asking me who helped me at home and did I have help with the kids implying that I was wrong to bring her In.

I actually feel quite upset now!

Aibu there was no need for the speech about having help was there?

I shouldn't be made to feel foolish for getting it checked ?

Erm I wouldn't have taken a child to the GP with conjunctivitis.

A pharmacist will only treat eye problems (even in adults) that are very mild and completely painless.

How strange.

My toddler woke up with conjunctivitis on Monday, went to the pharmacy on Tuesday as it looked worse, they said go straight to the GP.

GP prescribed eye drops, no problem.

Op I would get an eye like that checked out, I would go to the pharmacy first though.

Breast milk never worked for mine only eye drops.

It's not conjunctivitis, it's periorbital cellulitis and you need to go to eye casualty. Might need IV antibiotics. We have many children admitted to my ward with this.

Well she seems to be the same today but I think the swelling is going down!

I am not so worried now hopefully by tomorrow her eye will be back to normal .

Thanks for all your support!
