Cheesy pasta bake

My colleague is eating a huge portion of cheesy pasta bake at her desk, noisily. It stinks. She is claiming to be doing slimming world as well. AIBU to think this is not on? (The smell is going to linger for quite a while)

I hate it when people use the word 'stink' for innocuous food smells.

One persons innocuous is another persons stink ...

How do you cope in a restaurant when others eat near you?

My office mate had one of those sweet porridge things this morning (they always eat breakfast at work/eat noisily throughout the day), it smells like vomit to me. However I'm grateful it wasn't one of those microwave burgers they like so much. But I've just eaten parsnip soup for lunch, so I'm probably as guilty. Unfortunately there is no where else for me to go to eat my lunch.

We don't have anywhere to eat except our desks
I hate food smells so I am careful what I bring but pasta bake? Is it the cabbage maybe?

I'd actually say no hot food in these places but maybe the bake isn't even hot?

Owl you can't compare a restaurant to an office esp a horrible tiny one.

Cheeses pasta bake is probably the last thing in the world I would eat if I wanted to lose weight. Slimming world must be absolute charlatans to recommend it. It makes absolutely no sense at all. No wonder we have an obesity crises.

Cheesy pasta is absolutely fine on SW. You sound jealous of her lunch!

I use Philadelphia to make cheesy pasta instead of quark though...

I agree with tinkly

Cottage cheese and cooked cabbage are not known for smelling appetising. I heard that people from cultures where dairy isn't eaten notice a smell of rancid butter around people who do eat a lot of dairy. I asked a Korean girl if this was true and she confirmed that when she first moved to Britain she kept getting an unpleasantly cheesy smell.

My pet hate food smells are quavers, sour cream pringles and cheesy wotsits.

I really dislike the smell of artificial toffee flavour too - it's noticeable in the bakery section of Lidl. Artificial banana flavouring is yuck too.

As for noisy eating - no thank you.

So what is OK to eat?

White bread no spread only?

How about you take it up with the employers who have no facilities to eat and have a work load that is such the poor sods dont even get a lunch break..

That recipe up there is all pasta and barely cheesy at all!

Thanks PigsDOfly.

My colleague is bringing in aromatic hot food most days at the moment. Fair enough. The weather is getting cold and hot food on a cold day is a good thing. Not sure what it was about today which made me want to be intolerant.

Most people here bring in sandwiches or salads.

It wasn't a SW recipe. She told me what was in it, and from what I know of SW cheese, cream and butter all count as syns and there are a limited number you can eat in a day.

Cheese doesn't have to be counted as a syn on SW. You can have 30g as your dairy choice for the day. Cream & butter would be syns though, agreed.

How dare people eat food, its disgraceful. Food should be banned, have an air sandwich. Where is Jeremy Corbyn when you need him. Shock

I am more worried about people who wink. They sit at their desks and wink, as if its a perfectly natural. It really cracks my knuckles, what are those winking people thinking, urrrgh {shudders] .

Supper, did you have glue at lunch?

That doesn't sound too bad. My old boss used to microwave fish heads in a garlicky sauce in our tiny office kitchen and eat them in there with the door open.
