I got a text from mothercare today to say that my sons buggy was being delivered today so i made a point of checking to see how many deliveries were to be made ahead of mine and there were 45 so i went to my grans for a bit then went home.
I got in at around 2pm and made us lunch while i waited. Fast forward to 3:02 and i got a text saying my parcel has been delivered... weirdly enough there was no chap at the door or a card left through the letterbox. No vans had been up my street in the time i had been in so i want to know where my sons buggy that has been "delivered" actually is! I checked all round my garden and in the shed and there is no sign of it anywhere.
The online chat says i have to wait at least 2 days for a depot investigation but that is no good when im left with no buggy which is a pita as i dont drive.
Where would i be able to make a complaint about this happening?

This post will be no help but:

Yodel are fucking useless!
Hermes are fucking useless!
DX are fucking useless!

Boycott any supplier who uses these cunts and make sure you let them know why as well. All delivery companies make fuck ups from time to time, but you have to wonder why these three seem to be so inept, so often.

In my experience of these three, it's a welcome relief when the right thing is delivered to the right address when it is supposed to be - it's an exception when it should be the rule!

StarsandSparkles · 29/11/2016 18:11

max im not phoning a premium rate number as it will cost me a fortune.

Grindelwaldswand · 29/11/2016 18:21

Ive found DPD and Hermes to be good they have a great tracking tool on their websites and sent me a barrage of texts to let me know they were coming

PopGoesTheFuckingWeasel · 29/11/2016 18:41

Bastardyfucking Yodel! Had my fair share of shite with them too. Including leaving a parcel in a wheelie bin...I live on the second fucking floor and the bin is outside!!

JurassicFart · 29/11/2016 18:51

OP search Yodel on www.saynoto0870.com, there are loads of geographical numbers there you won't have to pay to call.

Good luck.

StarsandSparkles · 29/11/2016 18:56

jurassic thank you ill look at that the now

PurpleCrazyHorse · 29/11/2016 19:08

Get all over Mothercare and Yodel's twitter and don't stop until the van has delivered it.

You can get apps for your mobile where you pop in the premium rate number and it searches for a geographical alternative. I use it all the time.

littleme2016 · 29/11/2016 19:21

Can't remember which delivery company but happened to me last year with a TV. I was in house all day as I had been off work with the flu, apparently it was delivered and signed for...checked with neighbours etc nothing. During an investigation it came to light that a Linzi (not me) had picked it up from the depot. Six weeks, several phonecalls, an email and two complaint letters later, finally got a refund.
Still none the wiser as to why TV was allowed to be picked up from depot by some randomer when it was meant to be delivered to me.
I hope you get your buggy soon and dont have to go through what I did!

StarsandSparkles · 29/11/2016 19:46

I have been on twitter and i am waiting a reply

StarsandSparkles · 29/11/2016 20:23

According to "david" at yodel my parcel has been misrouted 😠 and it will be put out for delivery tomorrow. Wtaf why is it so hard to deliver a parcel to the address listed?!

OP posts:
Toooldtobearsed · 29/11/2016 20:32

I think a lot depends on where you live and who the driver is. My Yodel man braves the chickens conservatory and leaves parcels under the hay. My Hermes man goes through the back garden (a fair walk) and leaves parcels in an old shed.

My only 'problem' is Royal Mail who insist on making me collect anything i have missed 😊

Hope your pushchair arrives tomorrow OP, it is cunting shit all the waiting and wondering!

StarsandSparkles · 29/11/2016 20:39

I hope it arrives tomorrow too as my wee boy has toddlers tomorrow afternoon and i dont want him to miss it

ElleMcElle · 29/11/2016 20:41

Yodel are the worst. That is all.

StarsandSparkles · 29/11/2016 20:45

Im firmly in the yodel are absolutely pish camp forever more

Hermes are worse, but yodel a very close second.
I too have sat waiting for parcels only for them to shove a card through my door claiming i wasn't in Angry
bastards.
With Hermes my mom could never order anything to hers as it was always delievered badly.
The first two times i tried to my house was fine then i got the same crap as my mom.
Once they put a parcel in my neighbours house.
The neighbour? 4 doors from my house and only because their porch was open! You could see the parcel.
Anyone could have stolen it.
Once i found a parcel sitting in the middle of my drive.
We were living on the main road at the time. Hmm
Someone should link these two delievery companies to this thread.

VikingChallenger · 30/11/2016 00:27

A friend of a friend is a delivery driver for one of these companies.
He steals an item every few days: laptops, PCs, coffee machines, phones, you name it he's done it.
I was really outraged when I found out.

Debated calling the police, even wanted to post on here to ask what was the right thing to do.
Didn't find the time to write a post and decided to stay out of it thinking karma will sort it. As far as I know it hasn't, yet.

kali110 · 30/11/2016 01:29

I'd report that! That is awful.
What an awful bloke.
I'd be ashamed if that was my dh Shock

SpaceDinosaur · 30/11/2016 01:37

I would STRONGLY disagree with Mothercare's notion that it's your problem to deal with. Nope.

You purchased from mothercare.
Mothercare chose to subcontract
Their subcontractors have failed
It is their responsibility

Call cunting mothercare

Eminado · 30/11/2016 01:39

Viking - that is absolutely disgraceful 😱

StarsandSparkles · 30/11/2016 08:58

I tweeted yodel last night and got a pm from them about 20mins ago saying that my buggy has been loaded onto their van and to tweet when i recieve it. They can ram their tweet after the hassle ive had. viking id definetely report that driver thats disgusting to do that to people who have paid money in good faith for their items only to have them stolen 😡👊

OP posts:
SpookyPotato · 30/11/2016 09:14

Hope it comes today OP, they've been useless and created more work for themselves in the process. They all need to take a leaf out of DPDs book!

StarsandSparkles · 30/11/2016 09:21

Ive never had a problem with dpd i like the fact you get an hours slot for arrival and can track the driver

OP posts:
exexpat · 30/11/2016 09:24

I wish that companies offering home delivery would tell you which postal/courier service they use, so you can make an informed decision about whether it is worth the risk of ordering with them.

Or maybe offer a choice: free or cheap delivery if they use Yodel or similar, and a surcharge if it is DPD (who are uniformly excellent in my experience). I would happily pay extra for the peace of mind of DPD if it is something urgent or valuable.

Amazon used to use Yodel for their free deliveries and Royal Mail for the paid-for ones, so I would often go for paid-for even if I wasn't in a hurry (after the usual run of Yodel delivering to random addresses in a one-mile radius of my house and expecting me to know by magic where to pick up my parcel without a card). But then they started using Yodel for the paid-for deliveries too, and now they mostly use their own delivery service, which is just as bad.

MinesaPinot · 30/11/2016 09:32

Just joining in with this one to say I have had it up to here with QVC and Hermes. Ordered an Xmas tree from QVC. Hermes tracking said tried to deliver at 19:30 - no answer. Same thing happened the next day - tried to deliver at 20:00 - no answer. Third entry on tracking said "delivered - left in porch".

The flaw in the above is (a) we live in a terraced cottage, and our front door opens into our living room, so we would have heard if anyone had knocked and (b) we don't have a porch!!!!! Checked with the neighbours but no joy so got onto QVC and finally got a refund.

Hope all goes ok with your delivery today OP, but I would be making a hell of a fuss with Mothercare. As others have said, your contract is with them, not Yodel, so it's their responsibility to get it sorted.

Makes you wonder why anyone ever orders anything online.....
