I got a text from mothercare today to say that my sons buggy was being delivered today so i made a point of checking to see how many deliveries were to be made ahead of mine and there were 45 so i went to my grans for a bit then went home.
I got in at around 2pm and made us lunch while i waited. Fast forward to 3:02 and i got a text saying my parcel has been delivered... weirdly enough there was no chap at the door or a card left through the letterbox. No vans had been up my street in the time i had been in so i want to know where my sons buggy that has been "delivered" actually is! I checked all round my garden and in the shed and there is no sign of it anywhere.
The online chat says i have to wait at least 2 days for a depot investigation but that is no good when im left with no buggy which is a pita as i dont drive.
Where would i be able to make a complaint about this happening?

I am having this with Royal Mail. Ordered a camera, it was showing as delivered but nowhere to be seen, no card or anything. Phoned the place, it was signed for - asked for an investigation. Turns out our (very nice) postman had left it outside and its walked off. Worst of it is that he will be disciplined and I feel awful but my parcel was expensive Sad so I can't just let it go.

Have you checked your bins?

StarsandSparkles · 28/11/2016 16:57

Its not in any of the bins as if anyone had came through the gate my dog would of noticed as he watches out the window

If you were out though, it may have been left behind the bins or neighbours bins.
Hopefully it will have been taken back on the van and will turn up soon.

StarsandSparkles · 28/11/2016 17:01

Ive been in the house all afternoon as i made a point of being home after getting a text at lunchtime saying the buggy was being delivered today

We've had this. Sitting here waiting for a parcel and an email pops up saying they couldn't deliver. We knew they hadn't even tried.
A couple of assertively worded phone calls later it turns out they couldn't be arsed because we are 'too hard to find'. We got some compo, though.

StarsandSparkles · 28/11/2016 17:02

And if it had been left with a neighbour a card would of been posted through my door which hasnt happened

StarsandSparkles · 28/11/2016 17:03

My street is just off the main road im very easy to find

This happened to us with Yodel last year (our item was lego from another retailer). Customer services told us it's because they have such a high volume at this time of year that they'll deliver it to the depot so they don't get in to trouble from the retailer. Complain until you're blue in the face.

Mirrorballfrog · 28/11/2016 17:10

I had similar. Was waiting for an item which was meant to be delivered on Saturday, didn't arrive, no tracking info available, now yodel tell me it got sent to the wrong depot and will be with me on December 4th Hmm

SapphireStrange · 28/11/2016 17:11

I do love the word 'cunting' used like this. Grin

Not helpful, I know, but I did want to congratulate you.

Hope they ... cunting sort it out for you soon, OP.

StarsandSparkles · 28/11/2016 17:18

Get on to Mothercare again!!

SquinkiesRule · 29/11/2016 17:39

Yodel did this to us too, no card, no parcel just an email saying it had been delivered and signed for. Dh had been home all day, no TV on or anything puttering about in and out of the garage (which was wide open) I had just fired off a complaint when next door neighbor knocked and gave us the parcel Blush She had signed for it and wondered why she had it seeing she could even see Dh in and out all day.

OverScentedFanjo · 29/11/2016 17:44

Don't waste your time on the phone to yodel, call mother are and keep at it. Your contract is with them not yodel.

I had similar with TU order recently. They were brilliant. They were rolling eyes at yodel as well.

StarsandSparkles · 29/11/2016 17:47

Im not phoning yodel as its a premium rate number another way to rob people. I phoned mothercare and they said that because its classed as delivered then its with yodel my beef is. I just want my bloody buggy! Im going to phone mothercare back tomorrow morning

I refuse to buy from sports direct anymore because of this, they are literally the worst delivery company in the UK, they even won a vote for it Hmm DP was looking at a job with them and it involved him paying a lum sum of his "self employed" wage to rent a van of them each month and drive around they literally offer their employees no contract hours at all and take no responsibility for them, its like the Uber of the delivery sector. How its legal i don't know! And the job description claimed he could earn 50k a year just for working when he wanted Confused

SoupDragon · 29/11/2016 17:56

Oddly, I've had exemplary service from yodel.

UPS, on the other hand....

GinIsIn · 29/11/2016 17:57

Yodel have made a habit recently of leavin parcels sent to us outside our front door. Except we live in a terraced house, so their idea of a "safe place" is to leave it on the pavement out on the road.... Hmm

Shosha1 · 29/11/2016 17:58

Get on Twitter. Only way I got Yodel to deliver, when they were being bastards.

They hate being found out on Twitter

I don't think this is true because the transaction is between Mothercare and Yodel. i might be wrong though.

You're right; the customer's contract is with Mothercare and it's up to Mothercare to manage their delivery service.

Escalate it, OP – ask for a supervisor or manager.
