My friend has been hyping up the new gilmore girls reunion since its been annouced. My mums currently on holiday so the plan was for her to come to mine as i have no babysitter. Wednesdsy she annouced her friends told her friday was that friends last day in the area before she moved away.

I wasnt that bothered about the new revival until she hyped it up so much. I brought face masks booze etc to make it a good night in.

I told her wednesday weve been planning this for over 9 months so id be hurt if she picked someone else over me. She said shed try to see her thursday night instead.

This is a friend she saw the weekend befpre when telling me it was her anniversaryso couldnt come out then had a couples meal.

No answer Thursday at all and no communication till 10 to 7 friday to say moving friend was busy thursday so shes going out with her that night shed see me saturday.

I had to rearrange saturday night to see her and then nothing till half past 6 to say she had a migraine.

Friday night i watched the first episode and she wasn't impressed i watched it without her. Tonight im watching the rest.

Aibu to annoyed and watch the rest without her? The next time i might see her is next friday due to her work commitments.

Yes we dont get a lot of time thats girly and when the new episodes where annouced she insisted i watched all the old episodes so im up to date. I wasnt as enthusiastic as her but watched them and by last month was actually looking forward to it

You must know that she IBU and YANBU? She dicks you around and then gets snotty because you had the temerity to watch the programme without her royal presence?

Seriously, this woman is not your friend. She reserves the right to blow you off at the shortest of notice whilst insisting you dance to her tune. Tell her to get a grip and stop being such a shit friend.

Everything is my fault she invited someone to my birthday (at my house) without asking me if i wanted her there. I liked the the girl invited but shes ridicously loud and everything has to be her way so i can deal with her on her own but not in company. My entire birthday was spent fending off invited girl from picking 'in good humour' on one of my less confident friends. The entire night was a write off but "she didnt know and tried to stop it" by making it worse.

OP- If you reread what you have written objectively, you would realize you don't have a friend. You have a manipulative bitch in your life.

So to summarise, this "friend":

Has invited guests to your home on your birthday without asking.

Has failed to ensure uninvited guest behaves appropriately

Has dropped you twice at short notice.

Has dropped you for someone she is "never going to see again"

Has repeatedly cancelled a long standing arrangement (that she initiated) to watch this program and is now complain you didn't wait for her.

However ordinarily nice/fun this person is this is not a person I'd be making any future advance plans with.

I might be prepared to do a last minute night out with her but I'd refuse all other invitations. I certainly wouldn't be inviting her to anything myself.

She's not really worth your time.

Watched the 4 episodes over the weekend and was very disappointed! Just thought it was all so unlike the original characters!
