In the last couple days we've had a law come through that adult content will be automatically blocked by ISPs not just porn which does at least need good age verification (which I believe if they have it's not automatically blocked) but whatever is classed as adult content, perhaps MN could be with its swearing, some sexual chat etc, who decides what's classed as adult content ?

Now also a laws being passed that your whole internet history for a year is freely available to many different organisations and not just the police.

It just seems soon you won't be able to go to the toilet without notifying someone

Where did you hear this?

LouisvilleLlama · 24/11/2016 21:55

I saw the article on internet history....quite worrying, not quite sure why the agencies involved would need to know that information about members of the public. If they have good cause to think you are up to something dodgy then surely they can all for and get permissions to view your internet history, and rightly so but to just make it available.....and maybe I missed it but why is this the first we are hearing about this?

Ehhhhhh, go on the TOR network, they won't have your history then

ThisIsStartingToBoreMe · 24/11/2016 22:02

Whats the TOR network

LouisvilleLlama · 24/11/2016 22:19

I don't know, maybe because it's been unpopular in the past? Hope MPs will be included, they wanted to be excluded last time

Well, employers often check social media accounts of their employees or potential new recruits already. It is scary, but also warning to people not to put unsavoury content that would get them in trouble in RL
