For my unhealthy attitude to Xmas buffet food? Why do they – year after year – have so many delights on offer? Smile

I’m trying to be good food wise on the lead up to Xmas but how are we expected to resist:

*Cheese and Onion Mini Muffins with a Rarebit filling
*Cranberry and Port Pork Pies
*Pork Belly Squares in a Sweet and Sticky BBQ Glaze
*Bacon and Cheese Twists
*Prawn Dim Sum Selection
*Mini Chicken Kiev’s

Roll on Xmas, as I of course wouldn’t dare touch any of these until Xmas Day … yeah right

This is a light hearted thread … no food police please Confused

We have already planned out M&S party food shop via the pub for 23rd December. It is actually in my diary

There's normally a busy weekend day in December where we've got a number of pre-Christmas preparations crunched into one day, and that's when we have the M&S party food for lunch / dinner going on - I just bribe them with party food to keep going, basically. For me and DH it reflects a sort of regret that we haven't been invited to any of those sorts of parties for a while. For dd - who knows what's going on in her head as I push her up a ladder clutching a miniature Yorkshire pudding in one hand and a paper chain in the other.

YAB VV U because I live in Germany with no M&S and am now horribly jealous and craving all the delicious Christmas delights!!

Damn them for their bacon & cheese rolls (that I've just eaten a packet of - well I had 15, pooch got 1, reluctantly).
And for the prawn in breadcrumbs thingies that I had yesterday.
At this rate I'll not have left by the time Christmas arrives. Maybe I'll nip out at the weekend again Grin
(Wasn't impressed by their mince pies though - even if I did finish the box)

I know what you mean, I was forced to have a pizza on Monday, another on Tuesday and a burger yesterday. What chance have I got with my diet if the shops carry on like this? Hopefully they'll have learnt that they shouldn't sell these things and just stick to healthy foods before I head to the supermarket at the weekend.

It's not just M&S either, and not just around Christmas. It's like supermarkets have clubbed together and are actually trying to get us to buy nice, unhealthy food!

'Kievs' doesn't need an apostrophe!

Is the party food half price again? It was a couple of weeks ago and I got the:
Mini pies
Indian selection (bhajis, samosas etc)
Duck spring rolls
Chicken kievs
Pigs in blankets (these are for Christmas Dinner)

All are in the freezer and will be enough for a small gathering, with bread, cheese, crisps etc.

I have a voucher for £5 off when I spend £30 and plan to go tomorrow to get a dine in meal, some meat and need to get something else to make it up to £30 so might have to get some more for the freezer.

If we don't end up serving it to guests, it will do like others have said for an easy snacky tea in front of the telly over Christmas.

Of course the supermarkets are feeding us up. They have to prepare for the annual January 'oh look, you've got fat, wanna buy some slimfast' New Year dieting campaign.
