To really hate the phrase "yummy mummy"

Lots of lovely people use this phrase (especially when a new mum posts a photo of her and baby on Facebook) but I just hate it! It sounds so false. Some people comment this on my photos; and trust me, I am not yummy!

Gosh, just read all the thread. Didn't know anyone would actually describe themselves that way, at least not in an irony free way!

IT seems to be written on every second person's changing bag for their baby. I can't be doing with the word Mummy out of the mouths of any adult or directed at anyone not their mother. It's patronising.

I didn't even possess a changing bag when mine were babies though so clearly I am out of the loop.

Yuck. Is there a term that makes a woman appear less attractive than 'yummy mummy'...

Loaferloveforyou · 21/11/2016 17:50

The worst I've seen is someone's job description on FB as 'full time yummy mummy'

I'll be more of a 'part time yummy mummy, part time scummy mummy'

BabooshkaKate · 21/11/2016 18:22

A yummy mummy has a baby or toddler. A MILF has teenagers.

It's all part of the same gross package.

Why not just give a normal compliment like "you/your hair/your outfit looks nice!" 🙃

ForalltheSaints · 21/11/2016 18:31

It is not a nice phrase but better than MILF.

flamingnoravera · 21/11/2016 18:36

I always thought it was an insult. To describe the helicopter, boden wearing, baby wearing, organic milky mother of many. To discover it is a porn site word is surprising.

Mammylamb · 21/11/2016 19:44

It's a porn site word? I had no idea! I thought milf would be a porn site word. This must be the search term for more genteel porn sites

I call myself a scummy mummy, ooo! is that a wotsit on the floor? munch I use the term yummy mummy for anyone who has managed to get their children up to school on time yet still have a face full of make-up, matching shoes and children without toothpaste spatters on their uniforms, I am a truely hopeless case.
