Evilstepmum01 - umm you do realise that Top Gear/The Jeremy Clarkson Show comes under the same umbrella as those other shite 'reality' shows, right? It's all scripted nonsense, and 'blokey, non pc entertainment' like his is exactly the reason scum people like Farage and Trump get any time of day. He makes insulting behaviour, that belongs in the past, acceptable.

He represents exactly the problems we're facing as a society that wants to move forward, but can't let go of the silly idealisms that things were so much 'better' before being 'PC became a thing'.

I've just watched Grand Tour tonight and it was absolutely superb. The beginning 10 minutes of getting to the main place was wonderful footage with all the cars.

Even if JC is an arse, I don't care in the context of watching the programme because I love cars and car programmes and this is just the best. No comparison to that babbling idiot Chris Evans who made me want to punch the telly when he was hosting TG.

The man makes brilliant TV. Did you see his programmes on the VC and the St Nazaire raid? You might not like him, but his work is first date. For the BBC to lose both the team that made Top Gear great and Bake Off does make you wonder if BBC management is really up to its job?

It is the same as those other shows - it's scripted in a manner that makes it seem unscripted. If that's what you enjoy watching, fair enough, but let's not pretend it's more high-brow than any other show you listed.

Cannot imagine allowing my partner to control the tv I watch! In fact an ex did used to tell me that the fact that I loved crap tv meant I was stupid, had mush for brains - but then he turned out to be a controlling arse so I didn't stay with him for very long.
