I've lied to get a house

And now I'm up shit creek. Don't ask why I did it because I panicked and my mouth started moving before I engaged my brain.

I'm trying to rent a house but no one will accept that I'm on housing benefit and will be going to work next year when dd goes to nursery. So I had a viewing the other day and when they asked about work I said I'm going to work in January. This is partly true.

When she asked if I have a job to go to I said yes Confused I have no idea why and now I'm in a mess!

I know I'm AIBU but help!!

Well done on getting the job.
Do you know anyone in the area with a teen child?
I know my DD would look after your DD for one evening every 2 weeks.
She has her own transport as well.
So as long as they are over 17 and have a car they might be willing to help?
You may not know anyone but just an idea?

Could you go to your dads house after work and stay over or arrive before he goes to work the next morning? I get it would be a walk and I know it's not ideal but you need to lean on those, who can and will help, not those, who won't.

No teens old enough unfortunately. My friend has said she can have her occasionally but not every other week which is understandable.

Me and dd's dad can't have a calm conversation about anything so I think I'm going to send him an email explaining how I feel and how much I need this.

Do you know what start date they are looking at? Usually they take into account people need to give a months notice, so you should have time after the interview on Friday to get something sorted, assuming you get the job.

Good luck with it!

harveyyspecter · 22/11/2016 23:36

Not sure of the start date yet but apparently I'll find out whether I've got the job straight after via text. Fingers crossed Smile

Good luck today harveyyspecter

If you're really stuck. Try local nurseries, often the young teenagers in there are happy to work a bit extra and they have childcare qualifications. :) good luck though and yes to formalising contact a bit more. Otherwise he will pick all the best times. With you working you will need to be able to have some downtime with dd too.

harveyyspecter · 25/11/2016 22:13

I got the job Smile

I have an induction on 7th December. Dd's dad is being a complete arse and seems to want to ruin this for me but I'm trying not to worry too much until the time comes.
