What televisions do you have in your bedrooms?

I want to install a television in a bedroom that is independent from the set up to the main television in the lounge.

What size of television do you have? Do you have an Amazon Fire television stick or similar? Any recommendations? I don't want it to be massive, and I will be putting it on a stand rather than the wall. Any recommendations as to brands etc?

anyoldname tv shaped pillow you say? Now you're talking ... off to Google!

Thank you for the suggestions, some good advice - will have a look through them all.

I don't think the OP is really looking for contributions from 'ooh no tv in the bedroom, because we're above that' brigade.

But actual advice from those who do. Hmm

NoCapes · 17/11/2016 20:41

Wow some of your bedrooms must be massive, we only have a little 19"(I think) and only have a 32" in the living room!
I miss watching Tv in bed - bloody baby hogging my room atm
Practically all I did in my third trimester was eat custard creams and watch Tv in bed Grin

WankersHacksandThieves · 17/11/2016 20:41

We don't have a tv in the bedroom but not for any snobby reasons, it's just that I spend most of my free time on PC rather than tv and DH isn't fussed either. We did have one when i was pregnant with DS1 as I couldn't get comfy anywhere and it was nicer to be in bed watching (sort of pre internet days) Other than that, sometimes DH and I would pull out the sofa bed downstairs and cuddle up for a movie and just sleep down there (pre kids).

Nowadays I just want to go to bed to sleep. :o

By the way, all these images of people snuggled up bed with pillows or hot water bottles or dps are lovely! :) Especially in weather like this! Answers itself.

30 inch lg smart tv with wifi

LGs really are quality at reasonable prices. Wouldn't be without it. Literally nothing better than slobbish in bed watching telly of a winter evening. Saves on putting the heating on too lol

lovelilies · 17/11/2016 20:49

32 inch n lounge with basic Sky+, Apple TV and Netflix
None in bedrooms

Manumission · 17/11/2016 20:49

I think she said "V" shaped pillow Grin

JenLindleyShitMom · 17/11/2016 20:50

One of my favourite memories is of being allowed into my mum's bed to watch the Eurovision Song Contest when I was a child! Grin

40" Samsung smart tv. I love watching telly in bed. It's hung on the wall.

blankpieceofpaper · 17/11/2016 20:53

yes, I saw that! typo of subliminal thinking

How vulgar of me! I can't think why I would want a TV shaped pillow in my room! Maybe I'll buy a massive poster of a old school TV as well to develop my theme.

Thatwaslulu & JenLindleyShitMom

our rooms are massive as live in old converted manor house, guess living room is 17ft by 15ft. The bedroom is direct above so similar size but it's in the attic so quite a bit of dead space.

We just have s.king bed and tv in there, clothes are all in the hallway

The next telly we're looking at is about 75inch i think.

Tubbyinthehottub · 17/11/2016 20:57

Well, I've got a 42" Samsung in my bedroom and it's on the wall. It's a smart tv and there's an amazon firestick. I don't watch much television at all but my husband likes it and actually it's quite nice to watch in bed sometimes. Or put the news on in the morning. It feels like being in a hotel (it's a bit of a novelty, we've not had it that long).

JenLindleyShitMom · 17/11/2016 20:58
Shock

Wow! I'm struggling to picture how big that actually is. Bet it's awesome to watch with all the lights out.

I want one now Smile

I imagine the 📺 in bedroom naysayers have no issues gaining control of the main set.

Floofborksnootandboop · 17/11/2016 21:52

We all have telly in our bedrooms, we have virgin in all the rooms and we also have a fire stick and a chrome cast. I think the smallest we have is 37 inches.

peardropz · 17/11/2016 22:32

Oh my god, all the people falling over themselves to tell us they couldn't bear to have a telly in their bedroom..get a life. I don't have one but would like one so watching with interest Grin.

Sandalwearingdoglady · 17/11/2016 22:39

Hey guess what? I've got a 32" tv AND a firestick AND a Sky Q box. And I won't be apologising.

Sparklingbrook · 17/11/2016 22:41

32" TV with Freeview and a Chromecast thingy.

I love watching TV in bed, and sometimes I even watch TV in bed and muck about on the net on my laptop at the same time. Shock

I really don't see the issue people have.

UpsyDaisyluvsIgglePiggle · 17/11/2016 22:42

55 inch smart 3d samsung I think it is. 3d is waste we never used it. Only that big as I caved to dh and we got a 60 inch for lounge so moved lounge tv to bedroom. It's mounted on wall. It started as a 32 inch at one point lol....Dh likes technology. No fire stick just smart tv I think. We have netflix.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 17/11/2016 22:45

Smallish TV with Sky multiroom. When I have a bed ridden migraine I have to have background TV bizarrely. I also watch shit telly like teen mom on it !

MillionToOneChances · 17/11/2016 22:48

32" TV with DVD and Apple TV plugged into it. I only use it when I'm poorly, but only because I hate dozing off in front of it at night.

bibbitybobbityyhat · 17/11/2016 22:52

None, but I would love to have one. We had a tv in our bedroom in our last house (12 years ago Grin)

Bought a cheapy LG basic 28" in the January sales last year ... but still haven't got round to having it installed.

PenguinsandPebbles · 17/11/2016 22:54

No idea why people get so high and mighty about televisions in bedrooms, if you don't like it don't do it good for you some of us love our TV's in the bedroom! And as grown ups we are allowed.

It's been a life saver for me sometimes I can't do anything but lay flat, because of chronic pain but despite that having a long hot bath and getting into bed with a hot chocolate, smelly candles, fresh bedlinen and greys anatomy, and my cat is just pure heaven :)

I am lucky to have a big bedroom so I have a 36" hittachi HD was good value for the functionality can also stream directly to it from a laptop we have sky multi room and I also have an amazon fire for Netflix and amazon video.

I do fall into the category of tech geek so love functionality and the bigger the better screen :)
