It was recently a friends birthday. Friend has (and likes) cats. Presents and cards had cats on them. However, she is a bit upset as she feels she is being called a crazy cat lady! Is she BU

I got a lovely card with a kitten on it for my birthday. DD aged 5 stole it and put it in a picture frame she got from the pound shop and put it in her room.

I have 3 cats. I have cat pattern curtains and cushions. I suspect I'm also veering into mad cat lady territory. I love cat things though.

I am really pissed of that nobody has ever sent me a cat card...yet I adopted one earlier this year..he has already managed to get in a van and go to London from Hertfordshire and I got him back...and he has thumbs. He needs his own agent....

Lacks a lot of originality and lack of thinking receiving nothing but cards and presents with cats. There will be more to her other than cats.

I have two and my colleagues are always teasing me about being a crazy cat lady. I take it as a compliment!! One of my colleagues has two have hates being referred to as a cat lady.

I always get cards with cats on.

Is she also single and/or childless?

I don't know tbh, I know several crazy cat women. People tend to buy them cat related presents as they think this is the main focus of their lives.
Maybe, you have touched a nerve and she feels this is what she is turning into.
If so, then you have all done her a favour.

Cat people are odd, dogs are they way forward .

I'm not sure she is being totally U....but I may be biased, as I keep hamsters and get given a lot of merchandise with guinea pigs on it (which are a totally different species that I have no affiliation to).

I don't have anything useful to add, I'm just hoping for more cat photos (please). I'm a crazy dog lady but I love cats too.

I think it might be the spinster aspect of crazy cat ladies that is upsetting your friend.

i love my cats and all things with cats on, im a happy crazy cat lady and would not be bothered.

That being said, perhaps your friend feels everyone isn't really appreciating her for the other parts of her life and personality...

Well if she has 3 cats of course people are going to think she's mad on cats.

It's always interesting to look at your birthday cards and see what people think of you via the ones they choose.

Mine tend to be full of kittens and handbags and flowers and I'm nothing LIKE that. Or at least I think I'm not! I must come over that way!

It might be just there are a lot of gift items out there with cats on and people might feel it's a safe choice for her, something she definitely would like rather than guess and taking a risk. I don't think they are making any assumptions about her personality.
