Just spent £3k to have new boiler & 2 radiators put in.
The plumber has burnt two small holes under the radiators. He has also accidently drilled through a tile in the bathroom. He hadn't replaced the carpet grippers & he's left some of the old pipes dangling through the kitchen ceiling.
AIBU to expect him to rectify these things or am I being too picky? Apart from the burns, I can probably mend the rest myself.

Yes he should make good.

Totally insist upon it before you pay him - or you'all never see him again.

YADNBU. Point it out to him. Told my DP and he agrees, that isn't good enough.

Pipes dangling through the kitchen ceiling? Of course he should get rid of those!
Putting things back to an acceptable standard is part of the job so I would calmly refuse to pay until it's done.
Too many cowboy plumbers get away with this sort of thing.

Did you see his gas certificate, I am worried he may not even be registered with such a lot of mistakes

Nibeana · 16/11/2016 14:10

Thanks for the advice, he's "popping round" with the bill today so now that I'm confirmed by the mumsnet collective that I'm not being unreasonable, I shall pursue it.
Yes, they are registered, I checked!
Thanks one & all.
