DD's first word (and still her only reliable one, although she has a go at others) was "yes", which she has been saying since about 10 months. it makes her a very amiable conversationalist.

my DN's first word was "shoes" and she's still obsessed with them now.

my DB's first word was "hot" (we lived in Yorkshire at the time, so he pronounced neither the 'h' nor the 't') and he thought everything was 'o'. It took us ages to understand why he thought the sky was hot, until we realised he thought the clouds were steam.

What about your lot??

I can't remember the first words for either of my DS's or how old they were at the time

Oh thank fuck I'm not the only one!
I set up email addresses for all 3 dc and I can only remember ds2 milestones because I emailed them to him. I didn't email milestones to ds1- just a load of pfb rambling shit really Grin and so I can't remember anything.
DD might get her milestones eventually if I remember to send them. Being the third she's had like 1 email in the year she's been alive Blush

SuperSange · 15/11/2016 21:26

It was either flower or birdie; I'm not sure. Confused

sphinxster · 15/11/2016 21:27

Another "cat" shouter here. Said it at 9 months and still squeals it at our cats 5 months later... 1,000 times a day. We now have "car, dog, bird, mum, daa" too.

MrsNuckyThompson · 15/11/2016 21:37

DS said 'car'. It was very cute walking down the street with him in the buggy and he'd say 'car' at every parked one we passed. Did get a bit tiresome in the end!!

hefzi · 15/11/2016 21:37

Mine was allegedly "egg" - still quite food focused Blush

My DB's was a "sentence": naughty bad don't Grin

minionsrule · 15/11/2016 21:42

Maybe not the first but very early one which made me smile
was 'mo' which was ds's word for milk

Dinosaursdontgrowontrees · 15/11/2016 22:07

Dd said up (as in pick me up now!)
Ds said muma

monsterbookofty · 15/11/2016 22:15

Baby ds, 10 month old said very clearly- milk. He has also said mama, dada, Gem and hi. Grin

sj257 · 15/11/2016 22:27

I can't remember my daughters first word, oops. My son's was duck.

buccon · 15/11/2016 22:31

Strange thing here...but my first son's word was "ite" meaning light closely followed by "cock" i.e clock. when he was about 10 months old.
Daughter's first word (a little later at 12 months) was also "ite" as in light....
guess it's a massive coincidence!!

SoTheySentMeA · 15/11/2016 22:42

DS's was Dada
DSD's was Go
DNephews was Hello and then my name preens

No one remembers mine, but I was number 4 out of 6 children so everything I did was over shadowed by older and younger siblings Sad

RhodaBorrocks · 16/11/2016 01:12

Awww buccon babies love lights. I posted on page 1 how my DS said light, and thinking about it, my DSis did too.

Mine was flower. I have hayfever. I bloody hate the things!

DS did actually sign 'milk' at 6 months, followed by 'nappy' which really meant 'take off all my clothes and let me kick around naked' and he signed it whenever he had clothes put on him. He started speaking literally days after mastering walking, it was like someone had switched babies on us!

Maz2444466 · 16/11/2016 01:34

Car :)

Tomorrowillbeachicken · 16/11/2016 01:39

Raa Raa.... he watched too much CBeebies.

weeblueberry · 16/11/2016 01:53

DD1s was cheese. She'd march herself up to the fridge and just say it while pointing at the fridge. Occasionally she'd hang off the freezer door shouting cheeeeeeeeeeeeeese like her life depended on it.

DD2s was daddy. Closely followed by 'oops'. Envy

Iwillorderthefood · 16/11/2016 22:03
