Sock seams

AIBU to think everyone wants to have the seams lined up just right on their socks?

I see it cited all the time as an example of sensory processing issues. But I don't see how anyone could go about with their sock seams all wonky and bothering their feet!

I am very particular about this. DH has his socks any old way and it makes me freak out.

Anyone else feel horrified by wearing tights. Urghhhh. I want to for work but just can't.

Wonky sock seams - Aarrgghhhh!!! Can't stand them - horrible. Drives me insane, and I always wear socks inside out.

STOP TALKING ABOUT SOCK SEAMS its taken me 30 years to tune them out...NOW I CAN FEEL THEM AGAIN...Grin

I am the same!! The only wool content I can tolerate is 0%. And labels. LABELS!! They all get cut off, sooner or later. Sock seams must line up with toes. I also buy ludicrously expensive socks to alleviate the issue.

The other day I returned an otherwise perfect, soft, long sleeved top because I couldn't tolerate the seams on the sleeves.

Oh and wet sleeves are a no-go.

Is anyone else highly sensitive to sounds as well? I can hear sounds (frequencies) that other people are oblivious to. I've been sleeping with earplugs in for about 15 years now...

AwakeCantSleep I can hear those cat scarer things, there's one in the front garden of a house we pass on the way to school. It's so high and piercing it hurts my brain. I don't know how they or their neighbours can stand it.

I wear a lot of socks inside out!

My handmade wool socks have no visible seam and I've discovered that seasalt socks have completely flat seams, too. Bliss!

My DS 2 is obsessive about his sock seams. Glad he's not on his own Grin
My socks can slide right round so the heel is on the top and I won't notice until DS1 points it out because it "bothers" him Hmm

I'm the opposite to most people on this thread, I've never been the slightest bit bothered by sock seams. DH is though, and my sock seams really bother him. For some reason my socks always rotate 180 degrees while I'm wearing them and I end up with the sole at the top of my foot. If DH catches sight of this he visibly cringes and makes me right them because he can't bear to look at something he perceives as being horrifically uncomfortable.

Cross post with nurse Grin.

Grin tea

Sock seams don't really bother me that much but a sock has to be perfectly fitted on someones foot, any bagginess anywhere and it makes me feel ill and retch. The family think it's hilarious and do it to torment me beacuse they're buggers!
