Dyslexia, lots of fun.

Think I'd rather teach my child to spell than spend the time worrying about whether she should wear her Heelys.

I think it's really rude - I have a dyslexic brother who is incredibly intelligent but he has been mocked in the past quite horrifically for his spelling, by both people who knew him in real life and people online. It really gets him down. He has dyspraxia too and he had to work so hard as a child to learn to speak, read and write. He was having speech therapy and additional tutoring until he was 15, but obviously you can't "tutor away" dyslexia.

If people knew half of his story and how hard he'd had to work to get to where he is despite so many obstacles throughout his life with his dyslexia, they wouldn't mock him. And if they did? It's because they're shallow pricks who get off on hurting other people's feelings.

I won't tell you to ignore it OP as that's easier said than done, but I'm so sorry there are so many adults who find it amusing to mock other people's difficulties - I always assume there must be something seriously wrong in their own lives for them to want to bring someone down like that.

Even if you weren't dyslexic, some people can't spell because they don't have the privilege of an education etc, it's never something that should be made fun of. Hugs💐
