You definatly need the step by step recipie and method for the casserole. Grin

She will ask!

SpunkyMummy · 11/11/2016 17:39

burning

Our chopping boards are mostly made from DGM's olive trees. She owns a cute little vineyard with a small olive orchard. But a few years ago she needed to cut down a lot of olive trees (sigh... they were so old and simply beautiful).

But the boards aren't carved. So... not sure where that leaves our boards :)

That does sound delicious. I love onions!

DudeWheresMyVulva · 11/11/2016 18:00

Now that Burning has taken the lead in random food-related interjections I would like to say that dividing up pre-made (raw) hamburgers and rolling them into little balls has revolutionised my life when it comes to making spagetti and meatballs.

Can a stung pineapple do that, can it? Can it?

(Possibly, yes).

DudeWheresMyVulva · 11/11/2016 18:00

or a stunt pineapple even?

franincisco · 11/11/2016 18:05

Does a pineapple impress people?

This was my first reaction. Since when were pineapples posh?

DudeWheresMyVulva · 11/11/2016 18:13

[looks in fridge]

Would a pre-cut little plastic packet with the plastic spoon from the meal deal at Sainsbos count?

Actually, in one of those country home living magazines this month they suggested spray painting a pineapple with gold paint and using it as a table decoration for Christmas.

Just a suggestion.....

mogloveseggs · 11/11/2016 18:14

There was a very funny play last week on radio 4 that involved a stunt pineapple

DefinitelyNotRuth · 11/11/2016 18:14

All those don't think pineapples are posh must be so posh that they don't realise the power of the stunt pineapple to us rough uns.
Bet you all have naice ham instead of packet ham too! Grin

Anyone old enough to have been given a tin of mixed fruit and carnation cream for a 'posh Sunday tea?' Grin

Floggingmolly · 11/11/2016 18:17

Spray painting a pineapple as a table decoration?? What is it about pineapples? They're not exactly rare Confused

mogloveseggs · 11/11/2016 18:19

DefinitelyNotRuth · 11/11/2016 18:21

bloodyteenagers · 11/11/2016 18:21

pineapples, lemons and limes are posh? Since when?
What other stuff is considered posh?

MadisonAvenue · 11/11/2016 18:21

Haha! My mother in law stayed to dog sit while we were on holiday last month and I left her a pineapple, I casually told her to help herself to it but it went untouched.

Sister in law may or may not be dropping in tomorrow and I haven't got a bloody pineapple!

ShimmeringIce · 11/11/2016 18:23

Green goddess yes! DM obviously felt guilty about it though because we all had to eat a slice of bread and butter first (the healthy bit Grin)

SleepFreeZone · 11/11/2016 19:27

I regularly bake my own bread. Your SIL would love me 💁

mogloveseggs · 11/11/2016 19:30

I may have put fruit cocktail and tip top on my shopping list Blush

scootinFun · 11/11/2016 20:24

Yes to the casserole recipe! And make sure it is so fiendishly complicated that even Heston 'cleverclogs' Blumenthal would throw his hands up in despair

MaximumVolume · 11/11/2016 20:29

We often have pineapple because DH doesn't mind chopping it up & they're not really expensive if you buy them unprepared. I hope people don't think it's to impress!

Lazyafternoon · 11/11/2016 20:34
Grin

We had a visitor due - one of DH friends coming to stay for the week. I was at the shops and VERY nearly went into auto pilot of buying fresh fruit and some sort of healthy food to buy DS for his tea.

Then I remembered that said visitor very definitely hadn't bought a stunt pineapple when we visited them. In fact they'd not actually got round to going to the shop to buy food yet.... when we turned up for dinner!

So all he got was old wrinkled satsumas in the fruit bowl and to see DS having fish fingers for tea. Although there were alphabet potato things - they're educational so suitable for visitors to witness, right?!

Floggingmolly · 11/11/2016 21:04

Is it some sort of code for how welcome / honoured a guest you are, then? Confused.

Sosidges · 11/11/2016 21:26

I will put you out of your misery flog. If I remember correctly, A posted asked if anyone had stuff that they only put out especially for guests. As is the way with MN it took off in a parallel universe, with people relating the bizarre lengths they and theirs went to to impress guests.

We never had a stunt pinaeapple but we did have stunt loo roll when I was a kid. We always knew when guest were invited as we had Pink loo roll. It was put away again after the guest less. If I ever decided to do any vacuuming the kids automatically asked Who was coming to visit.

Sosidges · 11/11/2016 21:28

The guest left I mean.

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 11/11/2016 21:35

I remembered what a stunt pineapple was Grin but an totally lost on staged washing up area...

Boundaries · 11/11/2016 21:43

Burning I'm worried that you'll forget that happened and make tea in the morning with a teaspoon and it'll be all oniony.
