To return my boxes to Paperchase.

I wanted 4 cardboard storage boxes and found what I wanted online in Paperchase. 4 for the price of 3. Excellent.

I was going shopping next day so popped in to buy them. Went to pay and was told by a rather unpleasant shop assistant that the offer didn't apply in store as they are very good value. Weird.

I decided to get them anyway, but since getting home it's really niggling me. So I'm sitting here contemplating ordering them online to pick up in store and returning the others at the same time.

Should I bother for £7 ?

How much will it cost to do that, all in? To pay to take them back, then go back and collect new ones?

It's going to depend how much of the £7 is left to save, and how much that is worth to you via not having to make another journey/having the boxes now.

I'm sorry that the shop assistant was unpleasant! They are usually really good in Paperchase. If you've got a Treat Me card, and email Paperchase about the assistant, they'll probably put some points on it for you.

Won't cost me a penny and I've plenty of free time, it's just whether I can be bothered. I don't understand their pricing policy, how does it make any sense?

It happens a lot that there are different online details to those in store

I know I have had the same issue with WH Smith

I wouldn't bother for £7 but then it would be a lot of faff for me

TheSpottedZebra · 08/11/2016 18:19

They don't actually have to refund you just because you've changed your mind. So it might be quite a wasted journey!

OlennasWimple · 08/11/2016 18:21

What a bizarre comment about the offer not applying because they're good value!

I'd do it if it wouldn't put me out, but I wouldn't make a special journey

BadKnee · 08/11/2016 18:41

I doubt she meant that they were not available because they were good value, it doesn't make sense. She probably meant that they were not available in store but that they were good value anyway.

I wouldn't bother for the sake of a paper box.

It's common for online offers to be different than to instore offers. It depends whether you have the time/inclination to return for the £7

whatsthebigdeal · 09/11/2016 15:35

I would take them back, as long as I didn't have to drive there or pay to park
It takes me nearly an hour at work to earn £7

GloGirl · 09/11/2016 15:36

I'd write to head office, see what they said.

Paper chase has franchises, that will be why the offer not valid.
