DH Bloody sleeping!

Aibu to want to chuck iced water over him every time he falls asleep on the sofa! HE'S TIRED! I take hours to get to bloody sleep when I do go to bed, ds comes in EVERY night always on my side and climbs into bed so I can't sleep properly, dh is good and let's me sleep in when he can (when not at work/wfh or ds at Preschool) but at best its a few hours of on and off sleep, he on the other hand falls asleep at the drop of a bloody hat, dozes on sofa constantly whether I want to watch a film or not then complains he's tired! I'll give him tired!!!!

I get this too from dh. Every time I ask for help with the baby during the night, or try to get a much needed lie-in, 'I'm soooooo tired, you'll have to do it' is dh's standard response. Aaarrggh!

So you're angry (OP) purely because he can fall asleep. I'm sure you know you're being unreasonable.

No, she's angry because he is being undisciplined about maximising his sleep and this impacts on her. If he falls asleep on the sofa he could and should be getting to bed earlier, then he could do more to give her more sleep. I think she's annoyed by the way he doesn't have trouble falling asleep as this suggests he's just normally ''tired" and doesn't have the "sleep patterns in tatters" insomnia symptoms of chronic overtiredness, like she has.
Yabu to be jealous of his ability to drop off, yanbu to point out how much more tired you are than him and try to get unbroken sleep. What would happen if e.g. your dh took ds back to his own bed and snuggled him there? Or if you were sleeping in a spare room, or if you went to ds' bed on your own when he wakes, to get more kip?

Leave him on the sofa, sleep on his side of the bed so when ds comes in and gets in your side there is plenty of space for you both. Job done.

You need to train Ds to stop coming into your bed at night.
That's your real problem.
What age is DS?

Well you can't stop a grown man from claiming he's sooo tired (more tired than you of course!) and falling asleep everywhere, but you can certainly change it so your DS comes in on his side of the bed or you swap sides if that would improve matters.

Nothing worse when you are sleep deprived, of seeing someone else falling asleep easily while simultaneously claiming to be knackered. You obviously have v different 'sleeping styles'!

You might have to kill him for this incompatibility but seeing as how he lets you have a lie in when he can, I would recommend delaying doing so.

If you are kind you may put a blanket over him when you go to bed.

OTOH, if you want to watch tv, tell him to go to bed... then sleep in ds's bed and let dh get disturbed by ds...

OMG I love you lot!
I know it's unreasonable to be jealous of him falling asleep so easily wherever and whenever he wants - but I so am! - ds is so clingy to me, dh has tried to coax him round his side and does try and put him back to bed - so guess I can't kill him eh! - but ds stands firm on my side and even when dh puts him back he reappears!
We totally have different sleeping patterns, I've always suffered from insomnia and struggle to get to sleep even before kids and he's always been able to sleep whenever wherever so it was totally me just being jealous and ranting
