I only buy butternut squash about once a year... It looks so good and pretty.
The reality is that it's fiddly to prepare and only tastes really good in a soup.

Likewise, I hadn't had a pomegranate in years but it looked so pretty and seasonal in lidls. Now I realise why I hardly ever buy it... It's fiddly as he'll to eat and the pith is sour.

Other foods;
Pears- grainy
Gala apples-floury and tasteless
Pumpkin-gloomy and tasteless/ anything it touches looks like poo
Herbal teas- smell great but taste blah
Peaches- taste great but the furry skin makes me shudder

TheLamb have you tried the white chocolate buenos? They are 100x better than the usual ones (I'm rather addicted at the moment, and I never eat white chocolate).

malificient; I buy nectarines, as I can't bear peach skin. Gets stuck to the roof of your mouth.
Also, fancy cupcakes with 6 inches of icing sitting on a plain cake. Might as well just have the icing.

Coconut milk.

I love coconut. When i was a kid i remember my dad bringing home a coconut one afternoon (for what reason i don't know, he was a plumber!) and announced we'd all have a bit of the milk. What anticipation while he got it cracked open ... I was expecting some wonderful ambrosia of creamy coconutiness (like a liquidised Bounty i guess Grin) ...

Nope. Watery nothingness Hmm
