We have a tri-colour beagle who is 6 months. I ideally would like to get another puppy and have been looking at the sweetest baby Cavapoo puppy. We went to a kennel the first time we bought our boy and have gone back to ask about the puppy. We chose the Cavapoo and have been in motions to buy it, signing paperwork and putting a deposit down. She has met our daughters and they talk about her constantly! But, I went to the breeders today to give her the rest of the money and she said that she wasn't going to sell her to me anymore because her niece wanted her! I said that we'd payed and she just refused to let me give her the money and buy our puppy. I can't tell my girls that we can't have the puppy anymore, they'll be devastated! I want my dog!

fluffy if it's a farm if they hunt then beagles are used for hunting aren't they and of course the sheepdogs for herding sheep. Others just pet dogs

Well....obviously sheepdogs are used to herd sheep. Thank you for sharing your knowledge about what sheepdogs are used for. I am sure we all benefited from that Biscuit I didn't ask about sheepdogs. Your reply that Beagles are used for hunting means that the farmer is involved in an illegal practice then? What about the "Working Farm Dogs" mentioned by the OP - the Cavalier and the Poodle - Or shall we totally disregard them as they are just pets - used for breeding mongrels, at an extortionate cost??

Just to reiterate, I'm not saying you bought your puppy from the 'right' place. But there isn't enough info. to know it's a 'puppy farm'. It would depend on what happened last year and the year before - and what was being planned for next year.

Let's say (for the craic) this farm has had 3 accidental litters from their dogs, is that really the level of intelligence you want the person supplying your precious pet to have? I mean if they can't contain their dogs properly at the right times then what else are they forgetting to do? Worming? Vaccinations? Health checks? How can they even be sure the sire of each litter is who they think it is? How do they know a random dog from careless farmer up the road didn't get in and have himself an orgy?
