Hormones!

From day two of my period till about two weeks after my period ends, I'm a perfectly normal, functioning human being. Then I ovulate and it all goes to shit.

From ovulation till the first day of my period two weeks later, I'm on an emotional rollercoaster. I get so grumpy, angry and depressed, guilt for feeling angry... with a couple normal evenings now and then. I get heart palpitations followed by a night (tonight apparently) where I just cannot sleep and spend half of the time panicking I have a brain tumour or something once a month.

And tbh from speaking to other women, it seems I'm perfectly normal!

AIBU in being absolutely furious at hormones right now?! It's so unfair!!!

Yes, I turn into a right nut job.

I think that's why it's called surfing the crimson wave. You have to skillfully ride it.

It's rubbish is what it is

I turn into a sex monster at ovulation, I don't know why I bother to spend so much money on OPKs as it's so bloody obvious anyway after ovulation for a week after I turn into a sloth, i just want to lay around in pyjamas and eat cake. I don't even like cake very much.

I found an app called hormone horoscope, it is very badly written but if you can get past that (was so difficult) it actually is quite insightful and actually helped me to understand a bit more about what was about to happen/was happening

I'm sure there must be better ones out there

I don't like cake either.

But fucking love cake mix. I make bowls of that on Sloth Day.

Haha I'm certainly not skilfully surfing anything right now.

And I get the sloth thing too, I just wanted to lie around watching movies with my hot water bottle today at work, and I was in such a fowl mood I had to sit in the back to cool off for a bit. And it's two weeks till my period is due!! I always thought PMS was just a couple days before your period, not two whole weeks!!
