AIBU to want to shave my head?! - LICE 😲

Would this be an extreme measure?

After a random spot check on dd yday, discovered she has head lice. Some live, some eggs. Combed it out, hearing on.

Checking my hair this morning and found a big, live, ugly louse on a hair! I have quite long, really thick hair. Got hubby to comb it with conditioner and only found 1 other live louse.found no eggs.

I feel like my head is crawling. I think a full buzz cut is the answer...

If that's what you want to do hun, go for it.

Does your hubby have clippers so you can do it now?

APMom · 29/10/2016 10:32

I'd do the same. Wouldn't be able to trust my husband to go through my hair properly.

DamsonInDistress · 29/10/2016 10:36

YANBU but shit happens. I get them every single fecking time the kids do. And I have very thick naturally corkscrew curly hair that takes nearly a whole bottle of hedrin to treat. Lots of ££££'s if we get a bout in the home. So just treat properly, comb the kids regularly, and don't dwell on it.

NittyGritty comb. Forget the plastic jobbies. Only thing which worked to delouse our house. And we have long hair. Thick hair. Curly hair. Hypersensitive scalps. Nightmare.

VikingVolva · 29/10/2016 10:38

Want a buzz cut, have a buzz cut.

You dip on' have to use lice as a pretext.

Just do it

Count yourself lucky op. I had to do the walk of shame from my posh hair salon.
I still haven't recovered from the shame Blush

finlayargyle · 29/10/2016 10:45

Nitty gritty is definitely the best.

Oh, the walk of shame! 🙈

I'm glad it's mid term and we can quarantine ourselves for the week.

Shaving doesn't help unless you remove all of the hair. Completely.

I've never had lice before but now I'm a teacher and DD is at nursery, I fear it's only a matter of time.

Maudlinmaud · 29/10/2016 10:52

When I got home I checked the dcs heads and they where clear so my guess is I picked them up from one of my students.
So beware Twat

I can testify this is true... from having shaved 'downstairs' Blush
