Work uniform

Started work for small administration office, six months in. Getting on great but now an issue.

The practise manager wants to bring in a uniform for the three women that work here. It's dresses or skirt and blouse, I very rarely wear anything but smart work trousers, don't like myself in dresses or skirts.

It want part of the deal, I don't like being told what to wear.

AIBU to protest?

I have a real problem wearing skirts and dresses for work - I have sensitive feet (seriously) and find it difficult to get comfortable enough shoes to wear with tights.
Happily my workplace is pretty flexible and so trousers and trainers are ok.

Sorry I posted before I had finished my train of thought.
My point was going to be that a uniform policy has to be pretty flexible too. I know it is a small office but could you ask for options e.g. Uniform blouse plus your own skirt or trousers (esp if your job involves sitting at desk where visitors to office only see your top half), or a choice of styles of skirt.
Who has the final say?
