There is nothing wrong with the term 'hubby'.

There just isn't.
This MN trend of sneering at posters for using a common term that has been deemed unfashionable...but only on mumsnet...is boring, childish and bloody rude.
If you had a go at someone for using it in rl you'd look like a dick.

so much angst from snobs with their heads stuck up their own arses!

The only angst to be found is from the waah don't be mean when I say silly baby talk, you so nasty....ad nauseum.

Yes, you can say whatever you want. We've all agreed on that. However you can't make everyone else like it, which is when your whining fails.....

PoppyBirdOnAWire · 24/10/2016 20:28

I have never said that word "hubby". It is such a stupid word.

PoppyBirdOnAWire · 24/10/2016 20:31

I dislike "jog on". As silly as "hubby...

Giselaw · 24/10/2016 20:32

I don't use hubby. I don't know anyone who does. I don't call babies little man. I don't know anyone who does. And I DO make a face if I overhear it in RL, as if I heard nails on a chalkboard. So I will react just the same here and not give a shite you have decided I should do otherwise. Because your opinion doesn't override mine.

PoppyBirdOnAWire · 24/10/2016 20:36

Is the Pictish person a sort of forum prefect?

HeteronormativeHaybales · 24/10/2016 20:39

PoppyBird, I'm with you on 'hubby', but 'the Pictish person' is a long-time, well-respected, highly articulate poster and your little dig at her is almost as cringeworthy as the words you criticise, tbh.

PoppyBirdOnAWire · 24/10/2016 20:43

The h word is old fashioned. No young person would use it!

HappyAxolotl · 24/10/2016 20:43

Yes, hubby sounds silly. But no more or less silly than the Darling/Dearest Everybody-and-his-cat that I've only ever seen on here!

Although the D is unintentionally hilarious on threads when the Darling In Question is being an utter shite.

PoppyBirdOnAWire · 24/10/2016 20:45

Ooooh. This is as bad as TES. Hahaha
Just because you respect someone because they have been around forever, does not mean I will respect him/her.

Your response is truly cringeworthy.

PoppyBirdOnAWire · 24/10/2016 20:46

To the HeteronormativeHaybales person. Lollollol

PoppyBirdOnAWire · 24/10/2016 20:51

I have also seen the totally nonsensical "I text her.." used here.

Anyone own up to calling a chest of drawers a chest of "draws"?

Oh so many errors and so little time...

At least on TES, posters are reasonably well educated...

Shitonyoursofa · 24/10/2016 20:52

I work with someone who uses the word 'hubby' all the bloody time. It makes me cringe. 'Ooh hubby was late home last night. I'm asking hubby for one of those for Christmas. Is your hubby coming out for a drink on Friday?'

I hate it, but I'd never pull another poster up on it, mostly cos I can't be arsed.

TaterTots · 24/10/2016 20:52

Is the Pictish person a sort of forum prefect?

Isn't it also a little bit 'forum prefect' to say 'We don't say hubby around here'?

MistressMerryWeather · 24/10/2016 20:54

Isn't Loling considered just as bad as Hubby?

PoppyBirdOnAWire · 24/10/2016 20:57

PoppyBirdOnAWire · 24/10/2016 20:58
