To not tell DS he is an Ivf baby

We had unexplained infertility and were incredibly lucky to have a gorgeous baby boy through IVF. Only parents know. A year later and much to our huge surprise I got pregnant and have subsequently had another DS.

I don't want them to feel different. So would aiibu to not tell DS1?

The graphic circumstances in which they were conceived would be a very strange and uncomfortable topic of conversation to have with a child, whether it be IVF or a broken condom during drunken shag after a Black keys concert.

By all means teach them about sex and reproduction, but I can't imagine it makes any difference to them if they where conceived through enhanced fertility treatments.

Thanks again everyone. I don't have many really close friends as o tend to rely on myself and family for support.

That's something I'd like to change but find it hard to open up to people, but that's another thread!

It's really interesting to get people's take on this. Seems like there's a split between to tell or not to tell.

I don't think it is a big deal, but I definitely think you need to tell him. It is a big part of your life and, as such, is bound to come up in conversation. My children were IVF babies and they are quite interested in how they come into the world - they seem to think it is quite cool!
Children are remarkably uncomplicated. I don't think for a minute that this will be a big deal to either of your DC. Don't over-think it - just tell them when the time is right.
