My work has baking Friday. I spent yesterday painstakingly creating blueberry banana and chocolate muffins. Ate some of the mix, and tried a cooked piece.

Have woken up this morning feeling fine but with some bathroom symptoms. Could be stress, could be viral, could be my beautiful cakes ..

I have to throw the lot away and make an excuse at work right? 😞

Is there anyone at work you really don't like..? Wink Grin (evil)

UsernameHistory · 21/10/2016 10:12

or

OhNoNotMyBaby · 21/10/2016 10:13

Struggling to understand how blueberries, banana and chocolate could be a bad thing....

I wouldn't throw them away at all...

SaucyJack · 21/10/2016 10:23

What's a bathroom symptom?

If you mean diarrhoea and vomiting, should you be into work with it anyway?

Hmm I'm not sure bakes goods are a huge source of "bathroom symptoms". If they tasted fine then presumably all the ingredients in them were fine. What else have you eaten?

ItShouldHaveBeenJessCastismas · 21/10/2016 10:33

I quite like the phrase 'bathroom symptons' - but then I have a phobia of vomit!

ollyollyoxenfree · 21/10/2016 10:36

Yesterday I had, chicken salad, fruit, grilled salmon with veg, nothing risky

Yup- I meant diarrhoea- didn't want to put anyone off breakfast! Really- you would take a day of work for mild symptoms of that but otherwise feeling fine?

ItShouldHaveBeenJessCastismas it's what all my family say, all quite sqeamish 😬 My 5 year old has picked it up and sounds ridiculous

Salad and. Fruit are both RTE and so high risk, as is chicken if it was cooked and chilled.

IminaPickle · 21/10/2016 10:38

Chucked salad is much more likely to be the culprit!

Hope you feel better ASAP
It won't be the pancakes I'm sure
Brilliant username, probably my fave ever!!

SaucyJack · 21/10/2016 10:50

"Really- you would take a day of work for mild symptoms of that but otherwise feeling fine?"

Isn't it more about not spreading your germs than how you actually feel?

Butteredpars1ps · 21/10/2016 11:06

Did the cake mix contain raw egg? chicken salad a possibility too, along with virus and myriad other sources.

Cakes likely OK when cooked, but I agree with PP you shouldn't work with diarrhoea.

Hope you feel better soon

MackerelOfFact · 21/10/2016 11:25

The muffins have been baked so any nasties will have been nuked by the heat of the oven, unless you've handled them a lot since.

Salad and fruit are much more likely to have given you digestive problems as they have not been cooked. Also cooked chicken if it wasn't cooled correctly.

If I was your colleague I'd eat one!
