I've snogged every member of Boyzone, including Ronan. I am incredibly proud of this...

DP is fond of telling everyone how much the Queen Mother loved his fart joke. He was escorting her around his barracks when one of the ceremonial horses which had pulled her carriage farted, the Queen Mother said "Oh, I'm terribly sorry!" to which DP replied "Oh, I thought it was the horse!"

He says she split her sides laughing... Hmm

Spooky! Grin

wonderingagain21 · 21/10/2016 21:50

Do royals count? In the 90s I sold Pick n Mix to Sarah Ferguson & her princess daughters and then gave them directions to Woolworths as they were keen to find the nearest toy shop.

Agerbilatemycardigan · 21/10/2016 21:52

Walked up behind Mark Strong in a pub and did the pretend shining the bald head thing with the sleeve of my jumper. Thought he was my friend Brendan Blush

niceglassofdrywhitewine · 21/10/2016 21:58

Just catching up on thread.

Robbie Williams once flew back from Amsterdam curled up in some bloke's arms...

And Tony & Cherie Blair's children were amongst the most spoilt, rude and out of control kids I have ever met.

Minnie Driver made my lovely friend cry once.

Peter Andre once ruined my dress by barging past me in McDonalds, all slicked over with oil at the height of his Mysterious Girl fame. He'd been performing at the Chelmsford Spectacular!!

Loving the thread. I've not met anyone famous in ages now.

Wigeon · 21/10/2016 22:02

Surely more people have met the Queen? I've met her (when I went to hers Grin). Also Duke of Edinburgh (with Her Maj), and Prince Charles (different event).

Do politicians count as slebs?! Grin. If so, got a few of them too.

TheTattoedHand · 21/10/2016 22:03

I've kissed Tom Hardy.

WinterIsHereJon · 21/10/2016 22:08

I was invited to a post-match dinner at twickenham and ended up clubbing with a few of the South African team. Not celebrities here I suppose but had a very memorable night Wink

SansasEscape · 21/10/2016 22:09

Ricky Hatton asked me to come back to his Travelodge with him in 2014. It was hilarious. I politely declined.

fryingpan · 21/10/2016 22:10

As I always make the wrong choice, I've missed seeing lots of celebrities. Was too lazy to leave my hotel room in New York and missed N*Sync; skipped a work meeting on the way to which my colleague walked past Orlando Bloom; waiting for a friend outside the hotel they worked at and went to the shop next door for chocolate, thus missing Jean Dujardin; declined to go shopping for a mousetrap with my housemate and he ran into Thom Yorke on the way there; went to a backstage party at a festival and drank so much cider that I failed to notice several famous bands and singers until we looked at the photos later. Absolutely useless.

Housewife2010 · 21/10/2016 22:11

I love the Michael Winner story. What a lovely man. Impressed by the Richard O 'Sullivan story. He was one of my first crushes (along with Simon Williams)

Justwanttoweeinpeace · 21/10/2016 22:13

I was one of Katie Price's ghosts.

Not the woo kind, I did one of her projects that officially she did. Don't know why I'm being so coy about which one - they're all equally embarrassing (and lucrative.)

It was around the time her and Peter split. For about two minutes I had ALL THE GOSSIP.

SansasEscape · 21/10/2016 22:14

Oh and I pointed Neville Longbottom in the direction of a charmander on Pokemon Go in Green Park very recently!

reader77 · 21/10/2016 22:16

TheTattooedHand!

Whaaat?!! You have to say more about that!

Fav so far is the Michael Winner story. How lovely!

LadyOfTheCanyon · 21/10/2016 22:17

Had a very stilted chat with Samuel L Jackson in a lift. I was working in a 5 star hotel at the time and was supposed to use the staff lifts which took forever so I dashed into the guest lifts as I was late for a meeting and carrying some flowers.
Lifts are awkward at the best of times but we had to go 4 floors in a creaking 19th century number while he said ""ooh, nice flowers!" And I thought "fucking hell it's SAMUEL L JACKSON!"
I managed to stammer something in response and he seemed delighted to be having a chat with a lightly perspiring member of staff.

Also had my bum pinched by Richard Attenborough

Chris Morris came round for coffee once.He knew my partner but I was a bit nonplussed to find him in my kitchen listening to Radiohead when I got in from work one day without any warning.

Been taken out for leaving drinks by John Hannah

Discussed flowers with Kylie

Regularly pretended not to recognise Jennifer Saunders when she rang up because it sent her spare. She would get more and more irate while we said " ... If I could just take your name and number, madam...?" by spluttering " do you know who I am???"

Had many a chat with Peter Sallis, Richard Ashcroft, Jerry Hall, Mick Jagger, Ronnie Wood, Jimmy Tarbuck, half the Murdoch family, Tommy Steele (!). The perks of working in Richmond!

Also had a friend go drinking with Courtney Love, which I was very jealous of.

TotallyOblivious · 21/10/2016 22:19

Albadross - SO jealous!! My BF is an absolutely huge fan and I was dissapointed to hear they wasn't having one last tour as she was desperately hoping (but the album was good...) because I wanted to buy us tickets! Blush

Herhighness · 21/10/2016 22:28

I used to look after the children of chef John Burton -Race, so met him lots.

user1473509591 · 21/10/2016 22:36

Nothing too interesting here. Smoked a joint with Pete Doherty in the back of a van, by sheer coincidence my dp had lunch with him while shooting a music video in Spain last year. Got walked to the shop by Kate Winslet when I was little apparently, her grandparents were good friends with mine. Got chatted up by the singer of Towers Of London until he realised I was 13. Got a cheeky bum slap before he left though.

Agerbilatemycardigan · 21/10/2016 22:37

Not really sure if this counts, but DD3 was in a Bollywood movie with Amy Jackson a couple of years ago.

MyPeriodFeatures · 21/10/2016 22:39

My best one was pierce brosnan. I was picking playdough out of a doormat. He watched me for ages, I looked up and said 'alright?' He said 'hi'. That was it!

Deleted all the others as I'll be identifiable to anyone who knows me and it's in poor taste ;)

Simurgh · 21/10/2016 22:39

My father gave Maggie Thatcher 10 bob for a taxi late one night when he found her abandoned and in tears on the side of a road.

She never contacted him to give it back, either. Grin

Agerbilatemycardigan · 21/10/2016 22:42

Simurgh Typical bloody Tory Grin

Scotmum83 · 21/10/2016 22:44

I met Rory McCann ( The hound from GOT) in the shack in Glasgow, in those days he was the scots porridge oats man 😂

darksideofthemooncup · 21/10/2016 22:51

I met George Sampson at a wedding recently, utterly delightful young man and happily let me film him sending a sweet message to my Dd.
Claire King has been round my mum and Dad's house for Sunday lunch, she is really lovely and down to earth, not in the least bit starry and mucked in with the washing up

EmNetta · 21/10/2016 22:53

Years ago, my (large) husband was looking for me in the distance at a Boat Show, when he walked right into a small female . He spluttered apologies, while recognising her as Princess Margaret; she said nothing, but gave him a large wink.

Another royal connection concerns a friend's father, who was approached by two of Prince Philip's men after reciting a verse about "Piddling Pete" in a Norfolk pub, complete with doggy actions. They were requesting an encore.

sandbagsatdawn · 21/10/2016 22:54

Emmeline, we also saw Dara O'Brien at a concert and dh said quite loudly, "Look, it's Dermott O'Leary!"

My friend went to the school where Sting taught, and Martin Clunes lived in my house before me and went to the same school as me.

I've been to the Queen's garden party, and also went to uni with Peter Phillips her grandson.
