We chased some sheep!!

I never let my kids chase pigeons in town or torment our cats or dogs. But today I actively encouraged my adult dd to carry my 2 year old ds to chase after some sheep.

The reason being ds wanted to cuddle one!! His little face crumpled when they obviously didn't catch one. We took loads of photos instead and he has talked about his wish to cuddle one for hours now. Looks like we will be visiting our nearby kids farm when we get back off holiday!
Are we as parents unreasonable in supporting our kids dreams even if they are somewhat strange?? Should I have told him it was a ridiculous idea or to let him think he had a chance??
The sheep by the way didn't look like they cared less about having to hurry off from a skinny dd carrying a well - clothed ds up a steep grassy hill - before I get rspca flamed!

I am a urban person. But if someone told me they chased sheep because their toddler wanted to cuddle one, I'd think they were complete and utter idiots.
Please please someone tell me this is a troll and not some deluded moron.

P.S. Just don't take a dog with you. Over here the farmers have the right to shoot any animal that comes close to their herd.

A thread very similar to this was posted about two/three years ago: silly OP posts gaily about silly kids frightening animals. OP never comes back.

Oh.........

Although there is another thread going at the moment where some posters say that they encourage their dc to run at pigeons and they enjoy seeing them 'spooked'.

Apparently it doesn't affect their empathy for other creatures.

Unlikely anyone is going to eat the sheep abc , mutton isn't very popular these days. It's the lambs we want to eat so don't want them aborted.

SouthWestmom · 22/10/2016 08:24

Op hadn't done anything other than start a thread. No engagement.

I don't get why people keep posting their outrage and 'telling offs' saying the same thing as pp - I agree with better's mug comment.

Assuming the OP is a troll but just wanted to post as a heads up. My friend was out on a picnic in a rural location and her teenage son thought it would be funny to corner a sheep and pick it up. The farmer saw this, called the police and as it was lambing season it was taken seriously and my friend was ordered to pay compensation for the potential abortion of the lamb.

Are we as parents unreasonable in supporting our kids dreams even if they are somewhat strange??

I just love this line! Oh, look how original and non-conforming we are!

Trolls do like sheep. And Billy goats.
