I hate them. They are so utterly shit. Badly acted. Terrible poetry. Pointless.

Actually no point in asking if IABU because I am definitely definitely not

No. I just saw one and thought the same. I have no interest in your new house or your mobile phone.

Queenbean · 12/10/2016 21:36

Fuck. I mean nationwide!!

melibu84 · 12/10/2016 21:40

YANBU at all lol :D

hollieberrie · 12/10/2016 21:41

Yes. I haaaate them. Just so cringe. Blush

MrGrumpy01 · 12/10/2016 21:41

Yeah there a bit rubbish.

And the Natwest one isn't much better.

Wrinklytights · 12/10/2016 21:45

They are absolutely shite! It's like they saw the Lloyds one and kind of tried to copy it on the cheap. It's naff and clumsy.

Queenbean · 12/10/2016 21:45

they've actually made me reevaluate poetry and not I realise that I hate it. It's always read in an extra earnest way.

I can't look directly at if. Have to turn over when they come on.

OP posts:
Wrinklytights · 12/10/2016 21:47

In fact there's been loads of naff poetry ones, though not quite this bad. McDonald's and the cheese (can't remember the brand) one were pants too.

CateGory8 · 12/10/2016 22:12

2 lines always stand out to me "Sunday roast after a weeks worth of famine" and "faded mugs". What the heck? I hate them and I have to mute if I'm near the remote (and not in DH's death grip).

ShatnersBassoon · 12/10/2016 22:14

Yes, the go on a bit don't they? And the 'off the cuff' delivery makes me squirm.

benbry · 12/10/2016 22:18

Cringingly awful, whoever came up with that idea should get the sack.

toastytoastbear · 12/10/2016 22:19

I hate them too. It's a shame because I otherwise like Hollie McNish so it's a bit gutting to see her do sthing so shite

Queenbean · 12/10/2016 22:19

I am so glad you all agree

I hate the whole "we are so normal, but so thoughtful, and so street, but so earnest" vibe

OP posts:
PikachuSayBoo · 12/10/2016 22:19

I have to turn the channel over.

benbry · 12/10/2016 22:27

I've never even noticed what they're advertising, which makes them useless as well as cringy.

Queenbean · 12/10/2016 22:34

Exactly! Which is how I've ended up getting the company name wrong

OP posts:
Fairylea · 12/10/2016 22:35

Yanbu. Dh and I whinge about them whenever they're on. Can't stand them!

maisiejones · 13/10/2016 15:56

I hate this ad too. In fact I find it so unbearable I mute the sound for its duration.

chemenger · 13/10/2016 16:00

I hate them and didn't know what they were for, so let's hope I was not their target customer.

VickyBollard · 13/10/2016 16:01

YANBU. I have to mute it when it comes on. That man sitting on the doorstep of some trampy looking house gives me epic rage. His voice is horrible. He looks like he need a wash and a haircut.

Dogs daft as brushes.....

FUCK OFF

MitzyLeFrouf · 13/10/2016 16:03

YANBU

Smug, wannabe hip, cringesomeness. Nationwide spoken word poetry ads can feck off.

VickyBollard · 13/10/2016 16:04

I guess muting it isn't really what they intended either.

KarenLF · 13/10/2016 16:07

I cried at the one with the girl talking about having a baby as I'm currently pregnant with my first. I haven't seen any others though!

IceRoadDucker · 13/10/2016 16:09

OMG yes, assuming this is the one with the redheaded woman reading a poem about her kid?

Awful.

gillybeanz · 13/10/2016 16:10

I like the "England" one, not sure which company it is though.
If it's Nat West, I'll get my coat Grin
