Do other straight women watch gay porn?

When DP is on deployment and I'm feeling... well, y'know... gay porn is my go to thing to get me in the mood. I'm not sure why, but straight porn involving a man and a woman does nothing for me.

Is it the same for other women?

Yes. I thought I was weird! I hardly ever look at porn these days, but if I do it's always just men. Straight porn is just exploitative and gross, usually.

Serious question here, but why? If I have the urge and DP isn't here, I find I do need at least some stimulation. I can enjoy it if both parties involved seem to be getting something out of it, which is why I can't really enjoy straight porn.

I'd say that 90% of m/m fanfiction is written by women (not going to say straight women, as I find fandom tends to be a more flexible than that, a lot more willing to spread out along the Kinsey scale) There's lots of theories as to why, but I don't think it anything's been really pinned down.

Tried to explain it to DH and best way I could explain it was that I don't care if the bloke in m/f stories gets off, I'm more able to imagine how the woman is feeling and if there's more women there's more for me to go off, if that makes sense to anyone else?!

I think male gay porn feels ( rightly or wrongly ) less exploitative than heterosexual porn which is created for the male gaze and as an aid to male mastubation. Feminist porn is hard to find. As are erotic films where the women's pleasure is paramount, seems easier to find in erotic fiction than in films. I don't judge anyone for what turns them on but don't want to watch real women being abused on camera.
