To go on a caravan holiday in France even though it's going to rain throughout?

Is it ridiculous? Weather forecast is abismal. Straight up rain. Would you go? It's pretty expensive to get the Ferry, and I'm worried it'll be rubbish, exhausting and a waste of money.

If the forecast is that bad and the ferry not yet booked I'd hedge my bets and pick a site closer to home. There are lots of nice places in the UK although frankly (as someone who is currently in a caravan) wherever you go north of Rome is going to be chilly or outright cold and probably wet this time if year.

It depends what there is to do nearby - if you will be stuck in the caravan all week then no, if there are plenty of things to see/do (albeit in anoraks), then a change of scene is lovely. And weather forecasts can be inaccurate...

Oh I'd definitely still go, change of scenery and all that. That said, I live in a hot country with barely any rain at all year round so even if I was just sat in a caravan, the sound of rain on the roof would be bliss. I love France though, so much that I bought a house there and the main season I want to go in? Winter. It depends which part of France I suppose. Calais, not so much but anywhere that I could throw on some wellies and go exploring would be great. I'm sure there would always be something to do if you went to a campsite and even board games or cards in the caravan would be nice. It all depends on whether you mind being in such close proximity to your loved ones if it pisses it down all week.

I'd go. Our caravan is definitely probably warmer than our house. In a caravan you can change into dry clothes and can take a selection of things to wear.
Holidays are fun no matter what the weather brings. Waterproofs, an umbrella I hate umbrellas anything you need, a holiday is so much better then being at home.

It would depend on what's in the local area and the facilities on site.
