Well, mornings in particular but it can be extended to Sunday afternoon :) thank you!

Not much normally, lie in, bacon butty, potter round (but no major housework or laundry). I'm going to have a nice hot bath shortly, help DD tidy her room a bit (and put away summer clothes) then I'll be in the kitchen listening to Radio 2 and I'll prep all the stuff for a massive roast (pork today). DP is at work, due home about quarter to four so we'll eat about 5pm and then clear up and watch tv with wine probably. I love Sundays.

LeatherAndLace · 09/10/2016 11:34

We potter around, do a bit of cleaning while the kids play.
I've started going out for a jog with eldest ds while dh stays home with the toddler and cooks Sunday dinner. It's actually becoming a lovely routine and gives us time to chat whilst burning his endless energy!

SendARavenToRiverRun · 09/10/2016 11:36

Sundays are our lazy days. It's my only day off at the moment and mostly DH is off too ( shift work).
DD 1 is laid in bed watching baking clips on YouTube while reading her baking book and making notes. She's an amazing baker so hopefully she'll be making something delicious later Grin.
DD2 is out at watching a football match. She goes most Sunday mornings. Rain or shine!

Generally I do a good clean and tidy. Strip the beds etc. We try for a roast dinner. Today it's gammon.
Dog walk later with lots of mumsnetting and coffee drinking in between Smile

MyballsareSandy2015 · 09/10/2016 11:36

Football, both teen girls play for a local team. It's sometimes a pain when it's freezing but I'm mostly pleased they've continued with it for 6 years despite being nearly 16.

BowieFan · 09/10/2016 11:36

If DP isn't on deployment, he takes them to play their football match. So while they're doing that, I straighten up the house, take the dogs for a walk and catch up on anything I've got to do for Monday. Then we usually have a nice big Sunday lunch and watch TV or visit my DM and DF or PILs.

When I wasn't in the senior leadership team, most of Sunday was spent marking. But now I'm only teaching about two days a week and the rest is spent doing managerial things so marking doesn't take up that much time anymore.

If DP is on deployment then I take the lads to their football and have to pretend I know what's going on and that I'm enjoying myself. Grin

Wake up at 6. Remember it's not a work day and go back to sleep until 9. Sex, pot of coffee and proper breakfast ( sausage sandwiches today). Music on, DH reading on one sofa, me now messing about on Internet on the other sofa. Still in pyjamas for the next hour probably

atticusclaw2 · 09/10/2016 11:42

Sunday morning is homework time in our house. We have a long breakfast as a family, then homework and music practice for the DC whilst I prepare Sunday lunch and DH either works or does various jobs around the house.

We'll go out for a walk before lunch because it's beautiful here.

grumpysquash3 · 09/10/2016 11:47

Usually DH takes DS2 to his swimming lesson. The teens and I have a lie in until at least 10. I sit on the sofa with a cup of tea, MNing and doing online grocery shop. Then a little bit of bathroom cleaning, tidying, laundry while still in my PJs. Today is gorgeous and sunny, and the green wheelie bin is empty, so a bit of gardening this afternoon, I think.
Not very rock and roll, but good to catch up on sleep and get a few jobs done.

Brainwashed · 09/10/2016 11:48

Usually go to a kettlebells class first thing but this morning I've been out rowing in a very choppy bumpy sea. Great way to wake up Grin

HelenaJustina · 09/10/2016 11:50

Mass every week at 9am. Then either out for the day or home to potter until big lunch at 12.30/1pm (then I don't cater again until Monday morning!) then out for the afternoon. 4 DC until 10 who have to be exercised like puppies though...

Maltropp · 09/10/2016 11:53

Kid weekends I aim to get them out somewhere before lunch.... Park, walk in woods etc make it a whole day out wth picnic lunch if poss. Today one is off on a day out wth mates so I took DT's to play squash then we off to Dm's for lunch, tea and cake for my half sister's bday later then swimming lessons and hwk from half 5 onwards.

Kid free weekends laze in bed drinking coffee and reading before a pre lunch game of squash or badminton or a swim and maybe shopping or a board game and a glass of wine over a late lunch wth DP before my kids return for swimming and hwk.

Badders123 · 09/10/2016 11:59

We tend to potter.
Each week is different.
Today the DC have been doing homework, in the garden helping Dh and ds1 is about to leave for his football match.
I would also usually be ironing but it's my b day weekend so bugger that :)
Off to pils later for a nice dinner.

KateBeckett · 09/10/2016 12:00

Have a lie in followed by long hot shower whilst dp takes the baby!

Memoires · 09/10/2016 12:01

Cook.

CheeseCakeSunflowers · 09/10/2016 12:03

Church and cook Sunday roast.

topcat2014 · 09/10/2016 12:05

I always drive to Aldi at 9:30 and read the papers in the car park- then I chat to fellow queuers before it kicks off at 10:00.

Now sunday lunch prep for visitors.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 09/10/2016 12:06

Dh and ds go for a 15 mile walk then dh does breakfast on the bbq and we eat together- we're still sitting in the garden now in the sunSmile

I tend to potter about on Sundays but usually go for a walk with a friend late afternoons.

BabyGanoush · 09/10/2016 12:06

It varies! If DS has a rugby tournament I'll be there, or if DH takes him I walk the dog (with other DS) for a long walk.

Then a fried breakfast for lunch

MalbecAndLindt · 09/10/2016 12:10

We like easy Sundays. Usually do some kind of food shop, hang out around the house watching TV, tidy up, laundry, etc. I usually pop over to my parents about 5 minutes away and visit my Nan.

Today though, we are are both recovering from nasty cold so just been chilling out and had a lazy morning. Also don't need to go food shopping which is a plus. I've been counting out savings tin so I can pay my parents for our half of the pram. We'll have lunch soon then head over theirs so we can assemble said pram which arrived yesterday. That's the most productive/taxing thing we'll do today.

I can't wait until baby is here, I love the idea of being in a big kitchen (we are house hunting) making a roast dinner and baking on a chilly Sunday Grin

AverageGayLadAtChristmas · 09/10/2016 12:10

Downloading computer games, just nipped to the newsagents for a sandwich for lunch :) MN later probably, might read my new book :)

grumpysquash3 · 09/10/2016 13:48

In the end we had a less conventional Sunday. DS2 and I made these!

Just wondering what do you usually do on Sunday morning..?
Liiinoo · 09/10/2016 14:09

Today was pretty typical. Got up about 7.3. Downloaded Sunday Times. Put washing on, unloaded dishwasher and tumble dryer, distributed clean clothes to bedrooms, cleaned out the stove and the cat litter tray. Made mince to be delivered to elderly relation later. All whilst drinking coffee,/listening to The Archers on catch up/reading the Times/footling on MN. 10am -upstairs for shower/make-up. Off to church.

All fine - except I ran out of decaf so only had 2.5 cups of coffee. A normal Sunday would normally be 4 cups. I am feeling deprived.

user1471544305 · 09/10/2016 14:46

I clean house then sit in a beautifully clean place all afternoon

Kayakinggirl86 · 09/10/2016 14:47
