School parking etiquette

There is a single side of parking down a country lane for parents to park whilst parents collect their DC. Most people drive down it turnaround around at the bottom and drive back up to park in the same direction. But it drives me nuts when the odd parent drives down and nips in to a spot facing the wrong way especially when they can see someone (me in this case) turning around ready to go back up in park! It's just not done!!! I hope they scratch their cars in the brambles!!!!!!

I can see why that would be annoying, it's the kind of thing that pisses me off too.

But maybe they don't realise the system. Some people just don't.

But what if she didn't want to face the way everyone else was? Who made "the rules"

I think the point is that it's a narrow country lane and it's a more efficient system if all the cars are facing the way they are going to be driving off.

And it's a courtesy to everyone that you then park in the space in order of arrival rather than nipping into the available space without having turned around at the bottom.

Can you tell what a stickler for parents and parking etiquette I am Grin

You need to organise some banksmen to organise the parking safely - or maybe the PTA could just start a valet parking service to raise school funds?

YABU - park further away and walk the last bit
