To be so bloody upset that nobody remembered my birthday?

It's not a landmark birthday or anything, but I'm sitting here in tears about the lack of..well..anything. Not even a text from my kids.

I lost my job a few weeks ago and have been very down about it. I have always had something to get up for on a morning, but am at this moment sitting in bed in my hideous fluffy purple dressing gown, wondering if I really am so insignificant.

Should I just accept that now I'm older, my birthdays shouldn't be celebrated?

happy birthday

I am in a similar boat, the only person that actually said happy birthday to me was my daughter and my other half.My other half was the only person i got a gift from. My birthday was a movie night at home with my other half.I appreciate my other half so much without him i wouldn't have anything at all .

I know roseseteapot it sucks doesn't it Sad I'm really glad you've got your OH and daughter.

I'm feeling a bit better now. Had a text from a friend this evening who assumed that I'd be out celebrating. When I told her what had happened, she asked me over and gave me a couple of gifts. One for my birthday and one as an apology for her puppy peeing on me the day before Smile

Happy birthday Gerbil and saggy!

Glad you've had a lovely evening Gerbil. She sounds like a great friend to have.

Cake with candles for both of you, a birthday glass of Wine and Flowers and non-cadburys Chocolate

That's a nice way to have ended the day, despite your earlier disappointments.

Glad your friend and her puppy (!) were able to provide birthday cheer

Smile
