To think that this is the world's most expensive Advent Calendar?

I'm not going to tell you the price. But it's here

It is on Amazon. If you don't want to click the link, google Drinks by the Dram: the old and walnut rare whisky advent calendar.

WhoTF? I mean, seriously, whoTF would buy this? Did they only produce 10 boxes for the 10 richest people in the world?

I didn't want to put the price on as i wanted to add an air of mystery, because, for that price, you'd want as much as you could get.

So thanks for ruining it for everyone. As my 9yr old son would say, whilst rolling his eyes some people

Aren't advent calendars usually for kids? I mean, obviously I can easily afford this, but I have qualms about four year old DS consuming the contents. AIBU?

FeckinCrutches · 03/10/2016 13:10

But you didn't ask anyone to guess the price, you put the link up with the price on Grin

Tuktuktaker · 03/10/2016 13:23

This is far more affordable, and I'd much prefer it to whisky any day Grin

CrazyNameCrazyGuy · 03/10/2016 13:38

eatsleephockeyrepeat

That's a different calendar

This is the same one that the OP linked to:

www.masterofmalt.com/whiskies/drinks-by-the-dram/the-very-old-and-rare-whisky-advent-calendar-walnut/

eatsleephockeyrepeat · 03/10/2016 13:40

Crazy, no way! That'll teach me to multitask sick ds and Google :P

CrazyNameCrazyGuy · 03/10/2016 13:41

According to the MasterofMalt link, people who bought that advent calendar also bought "Balvenie The DCS Compendium Chapter One - The Complete Set"

A snip at £28,000 Shock

CrazyNameCrazyGuy · 03/10/2016 13:45

eatsleep

I initially did the same (and I wasn't even multitasking, apart from eating toast)

AverageGayLadAtChristmas · 03/10/2016 13:45

Typo or not that's EXTORTIONATE! And here was me thinking a Yankee Advent Calendar is expensive {confused]

AverageGayLadAtChristmas · 03/10/2016 13:47

Crazy Well as long as it's under £30000 I can afford it Grin if fucking only

CrazyNameCrazyGuy · 03/10/2016 14:01

LOl AGL - why not buy two!

It does amaze me that people will spend that sort of money on something like whiskey, champagne etc.

I guess it's all relative though, so if you are incredibly rich it's probably the equivalent of me spending £10/£15 on a bottle of wine for a special occasion.

AverageGayLadAtChristmas · 03/10/2016 14:03

Maybe I'll get a slight discount, two for £50K?

Mrsemcgregor · 03/10/2016 14:03

Not even enough whisky in there to get me pissed enough not to care about the 10k I just dropped!

slightlypeevedwombat · 03/10/2016 14:04

the prices on Amazon are sometimes 'crazy' because they are not in stock - so shops can still have their items on there, but not actually sell them

I dont know WHY they do it - they just do

and So thanks for ruining it for everyone. As my 9yr old son would say, whilst rolling his eyes some people - for this alone YABU!

PandasRock · 03/10/2016 14:08

The gin version is fab, I've had it for a couple of years - makes the wrapping/decoration sorting easier when there's a gin readily on hand Grin

PoppyPicklesPenguin · 03/10/2016 14:09

I can't believe they charge postage!!!

PoppyPicklesPenguin · 03/10/2016 14:13

My day was totally not ruined by someone posting the price by the way...

I'm eagerly waiting the Boots no7 advent calendar I missed out last year Sad

BolshierAryaStark · 03/10/2016 14:41

Well I was going to buy one then I noticed the postage charge so they can fuck right off... Grin

PoppyPicklesPenguin · 03/10/2016 14:44

They do have a £100 one

I've also just found bathbomb ones for £20

Hour of me time a day!!! To enjoy my advent calander this could be the best present to myself EVER!!!

VanillaSugarandChristmasSpice · 03/10/2016 15:14

I had the gin one last year. But the cheap one.

OP posts:
PoppyPicklesPenguin · 03/10/2016 17:19

I love Gin but developed a nut allergy few years back and can't drink some gins unfortunately, I did look longingly at the gin one.

maggiethemagpie · 03/10/2016 17:25

OP you are being a bit weird about not wanting to mention the price, if I may say so. Of course people are going to want to know the price, otherwise your post just doesn't make sense. Er..here's a really expensive advent calendar but you're not allowed to know how much it is. Yeah right.

SoupSpork · 03/10/2016 17:35

If she just tells us the price though how is she going to get us all to click on her Amazon affiliate link though ? Wink

VanillaSugarandChristmasSpice · 03/10/2016 17:36

Maggie, just for you, it's £1.99 from Aldi.

OP posts:
MrsJackRackam · 03/10/2016 17:58

I knew it would be whisky before I clicked. They sold out last year btw ShockThere are a lot of very rich people seriously into their whisky.
