And why would you vote that way? For you, do you vote for your party or for your local MP?

I am a Corbyn supporter but dislike my local MP for resigning from the front bench. Shame, because she's actually quite a good MP otherwise. I would probably still vote for her to get Labour into power but otherwise I would vote for the Greens.

lib dem /green and corbyns labour? Really bloody hell god help Britain

Ionacat · 02/10/2016 21:54

I have no idea who to vote for apart from I won't vote Conservative or UKIP. I've voted Lib Dem, Green, and Labour. I don't feel I can vote for Labour under Corbyn, he just isn't a leader in my eyes, and has divided the party alienating some of his strongest MPs. The Lib Dems seem to be no where, and Green just seem unrealistic in their policies. I always come out aligned with the SNP but I don't live in Scotland! I live in a safe Conservative seat, so I'm really hoping either for a massive re-launch of the Lib Dems, a great independent candidate or perhaps move to Scotland.

bertsdinner · 02/10/2016 21:54

Conservative, I think Theresa May is an improvement on Cameron.

Willowesd · 02/10/2016 22:13

Lifelong labour voter, but I won't vote for them with Corbyn as leader so Lib Dems.

CountessOfStrathearn · 02/10/2016 22:28

I'll be voting Lib Dem. I'm someone else who was disillusioned with the coalition but joined the party when I then quickly realised what a moderating effect the Lib Dems had on Tory policy and how much good they had really done.

MooPointCowsOpinion · 02/10/2016 22:34

I wish someone saying they won't vote for Corbyn would give an actual reason. Not one parroted by the media who have every reason to fear him, and not one about his wardrobe for Christ sake.

Which of his policies don't you agree with? How has he changed what Labour is or aims to do?

Cherryskypie · 02/10/2016 22:41

Explain to me why you think the media fear Corbyn?

Lalsy · 02/10/2016 22:59

There are lots of explanations about why labour voters and members are worried about corbyn on the labour leadership thread. Mine are explored at length in an article in the quietus by Taylor parkes (easy to google) which was published over a year ago - many of its predictions have come true. I didn't think the focus of this thread was discussion.

birdsdestiny · 02/10/2016 23:04

We fear Corbyn because we have been involved with the Labour Party for a long time, have seen it all before and know what it means. It's all the media's fault. Heard that one too. Know what the result is too. Decades of Tory government.

Radiatorvalves · 02/10/2016 23:04

LibDem. They were successful in moderating the Tories while in coalition, and a bit too modest about it.

They are the only party with a consistent stance on the EU.

And I have almost always voted for them.

I am in a safe labour seat and think my MP is ok, but would never vote for labour while corbyn is leader.

WheelofPan · 02/10/2016 23:05

Well an actual reason is that in polls and elections so far Labour is tanking.

Another one is that we do not live in a sharply left leaning country - we have never elected such a left leaning Party.

Another is that Corbyn doesn't really care too much about those reasons - he is about occupying space as a reaction to a govt NOT forming one.

Another he is clueless about organisation, compromise, and seeking consensus. Essential leadership tasks.

Another is that he is surrounded by his own echo chamber and deeply delusional people who think a utopian outcome will be so just because you wish it. Fervent rallies isn't representative of the electorate.

Another is that he talks about 'kinder, gentler politics' but excuses or remains silent on excesses of his own supporters.(eg McDonnell on McVey).

And 'the media' are not scared of him. He is simple cannon fodder for them.

Other than all that he's a pretty good fit to be the next PM.

Another is that he has no idea about media management or image manufacture, which in this modern world is crucial.

WheelofPan · 02/10/2016 23:07

and I am Labour Party member.

Realhousewivesofshit · 02/10/2016 23:07

Moo if you haven't seen the loads of threads about Corbyn on mumsnet then search back.

Do you think you are so clever that the rest of us are led by the media and his bloody wardrobe?

In summery for me it's the mysogynistic racist bullying and down right nasty behaviour of his closest supporters, his support of momentum and his lack of policies

NewsReview · 02/10/2016 23:09

Conservative. I think May has a steady hand on the tiller. She's going to be a very good PM.

Labour is a joke right now. A bad one.

WheelofPan · 02/10/2016 23:12

yes, May is a 'steady hand'? Who appointed Fox and Johnson. And the biggest joke is Liz Truss at the Ministry of Justice.
Quite a shaky hand on evidences.

Realhousewivesofshit · 02/10/2016 23:13

And how many of these new labour members will be door knocking and leafleting? Er none

Realhousewivesofshit · 02/10/2016 23:13

Not as ridiculous as Dianne Abbott.

WheelofPan · 02/10/2016 23:15

Well, I have little time for DA but she does win over Fox and Johnson, but it wouldn't be an elegant fight.

PlayOnWurtz · 02/10/2016 23:22

I vote locally first. So for me it'd be conservative because our local MP is brilliant at working for our area

t4nut · 02/10/2016 23:26

Seriously you'd vote Tory given the evil bastards have deliberately cut funding to education and health, hammered provision for the disabled into the floor and after 6years of cuts to services have left us with as big a debtvas when they started?

They are evil. Stop voting for them.

PlayOnWurtz · 02/10/2016 23:28

I heard a great soundbite on tv the other day

Corbyn is an antagonist not a leader or politician.

Summed him up for me

PlayOnWurtz · 02/10/2016 23:30

Yes I will vote for them they're not evil Hmm any more than you're a raving looney leftie... But I won't lower myself to the ways of the left and start name calling.

My local MP is a tory and has been brilliant for this area. On that basis I will vote him back in.

Labour are a shower of shit and our lib demand candidate is a total tosser.

TempsPerdu · 02/10/2016 23:33

Lib Dem here, despite being in a Tory/Labour marginal. Joined the party after the last election (I like an underdog) and their solidly anti-Brexit stance reflects my own views. Used to fluctuate between LDs and Labour but can't see myself voting for Corbyn, plus my current Labour MP is worse than useless and still heavily tainted by the expenses scandal.

t4nut · 02/10/2016 23:34

6 years ago the evil Tories promised the earth.

How is anything any better than it was? And how much is worse....

Realhousewivesofshit · 02/10/2016 23:45

14Nut no they are not evil are they really? Hitler was evil. I don't really compare May to Hitler do you?

What I really consider almost evil are the new labour members who have absoluteky no interest in making labour electable and a proper opposition to the tories but just enjoy indulging themselves in the easy pleasure of permanent opposition.

Most of them are either old militants tendancy, students who can't remember pre Kinnock days or well
Off guardian types who indulge their labour principals while quaffing wine on their French holidays and feel right on for supporting Jeremy.

Pathetic.
