To be so fed up with diets?

Only been on it two weeks and already I'm fed up with it. It's so depressing.
I'm doing Sw but have no enthusiasm for it. Feel so fed up. I know I've got to keep going but meh. Someone give me a pep talk quick before I eat something bad.

A whole mindset change is easy for me to say needed. To re-channel the mindset of pain and boredom-- is the pain now being managed? Op

Mummyme1987 · 30/09/2016 23:38

I do use food as a reward. Bad day then i want chocolate.

He will chop veg for me but I'm not a huge fan of it without a nice dip and the dips are syn filled. He's been making me soups too.

No pain is not managed. It's awful and I don't get sleep a lot of the time either.

I've lost 3 stone in 5 months very easily with SW. Keep it up!!

Mummyme1987 · 30/09/2016 23:40

Food was my nice thing.

I have stopped the pain meds as they were one of the worst for side effects, one being rapid weight gain (5 stone in less than a year). But I'm struggling to cope without. Lost 15lb in almost three weeks but am in so much damn pain. If I use the pain meds even on the Sw diet I'll gain.

OP posts:
Mummyme1987 · 30/09/2016 23:44

Not that the meds control the pain. They reduce it a bit. Nothing takes the pain away completely.

Sorry sound like a real moaner. Just miss chocolate, one two fingered kit Kat every two days is not enough!

I had to buy size 20 jeans today Sad I have no issues with food during the day. I use it as a reward at night for just getting through the day. I always feel disgusted with myself after a whole tube of Pringles, pack of job nobs and the rest. Yet I do it again the day after.

Mummyme1987 · 01/10/2016 00:41

I can eat like that but feel no disgust. Maybe that's my problem. I feel I deserve them. Just can't though anymore. I'm too fat to safely have surgery. I'm pre diabetic and now have fatty liver disease. I've eaten myself to this :(.

I can't fail. It's life limiting now.

You're not moaning OP - you sound incredible. I'm so sorry about the accident Flowers

DailyMailPenisPieces · 01/10/2016 00:52

What about a diet that allows you nice, slow to eat foods? I used to eat toffees on a diet Blush, comforting good like porridge, hit chocolate, nice soups rather than raw veg?

DailyMailPenisPieces · 01/10/2016 00:53

*food like porridge
*hot chocolate Hmm

tabulahrasa · 01/10/2016 01:05

You need to work out what you can have that works for you...

You can have dips with veg, they just need to be SW friendly stuff for instance.

Quark with garlic? I use it where I'd have had a sour cream dip, or salsa made without oil in it.

Mummyme1987 · 01/10/2016 07:55

Thank you. I was feeling a bit down about it all last night.

OP- don't diet. This is what works for me in keeping weight off- if you pig out dinner one night- next day eat more at lunch and eat dinner as early as possible and try to have no carbs- ie. a "naked" burger and a salad. Plan week ahead so you can highlight days you be eating bigger dinners and plan less the next day. Seriously- dinner is the meal that makes all the difference. Cut out carbs. Monitor portion size. Eat as early as possible and no more snacks after dinner. It works.

idontlikealdi · 01/10/2016 08:24

Sounds really hard OP. Would it be easier for you in your position to do something like lighter life for a month or so. I'm not usually an advocate but easy to prepare and don't have to cook from scratch or anything.

Mummyme1987 · 01/10/2016 08:37

I've been offered weight loss surgery to help but you have to follow a no food only milk diet for awhile. I'm not sure I can do that. It's awful to follow and I only managed it for 6 days.

OP posts:
Mummyme1987 · 01/10/2016 08:39

I can't cut out carbs. I just don't feel I'm full without some.

OP I don't know how old your SW books are. I'd suggest the latest SW magazines as well so you can see some of the new ready-made meals etc. Both to make it easier on your DH and to give you a sense of being up to date and doing this in real time IYSWIM. My DH started two days ago and he's not enthusiastic, to put it mildly. He's sticking with it for two weeks and will reasses. I've done v well so he knows it's doable. Good luck, yours is a more difficult situation but even more necessary.

Mummyme1987 · 01/10/2016 08:53

Books are 5 years old. I have been looking through the latest mag. I'm very lucky I have my dp.

Don't do them OP. Make a lifestyle change. 90% of it is in your head. By dieting, you're automatically putting yourself under pressure

Mummyme1987 · 01/10/2016 09:42

What lifestyle change can I make? Only food really.
